Perik.ai ("we", "us", or "our") operates the website at perik.ai. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

1. Information We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:

Account information — when you sign up with email/password or Google OAuth, we receive your email address and a unique user ID from your identity provider.
Resume content — if you upload a resume PDF, we store the file and extract its text to power the "For You" job-matching feature.
Saved jobs & application status — jobs you bookmark or mark as applied are stored against your account.
Usage data — we use Google Analytics (anonymized) to understand how the site is used in aggregate. No personally identifiable browsing data is sold or shared.

2. How We Use Your Information

To authenticate you and maintain your session.
To match your resume against job listings for the "For You" tab.
To save your bookmarks and application status across sessions.
To improve the site based on aggregate, anonymized usage patterns.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.

3. Google OAuth

If you choose to sign in with Google, we receive your email address and Google account ID. We do not request or store access to your Google Drive, Gmail, contacts, or any other Google services. The only information used is your email address to identify your Perik.ai account.

4. Data Storage

Account data and resumes are stored securely on Supabase, which provides row-level security so only you can access your own data. Resume files are stored in a private storage bucket and are not publicly accessible.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

You can request deletion of your account and all associated data (including your uploaded resume) at any time by emailing [email protected]. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

6. Cookies & Local Storage

We use browser localStorage to cache job listings locally (for performance) and to remember your theme preference. No tracking cookies are set by Perik.ai directly. Google Analytics sets its own cookies subject to Google's privacy policy.

7. Children's Privacy

Perik.ai is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy occasionally. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
