We are looking for an AI & Robotics Data Collection Engineer (Intern) to handle daily robot data‑gathering operations and manage the complete data labeling pipeline—from raw capture to annotated, model‑ready datasets.
Responsibilities
•
Sensor setup: Setup and calibrate the sensors (cameras, lidars, etc) for data collection.
•
Sensor Data Capture & Robot Operation – Capture sensor data and ensure high‑quality data collection. Operate robot arm or robot base when needed.
•
Data quality QA: QA data labels from vendors to ensure the data quality. Define the quality criteria. Develop tools to improve QA efficiency when needed.
•
Issue Identification: Spot bugs or issues as they arise, promptly communicate them to the right engineering teams, and confirm resolutions.
•
Safety & Maintenance: Maintain a safe environment for both the operator and the robot. Follow proper bring-up and shutdown procedures, including routine equipment checks.
Requirements
•
Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Data Science, or Engineering (or related field).
•
Strong organizational skills to track tasks, metrics, and deadlines.
•
Hands‑on experience with Linux/Ubuntu, shell scripting, or Python.
•
Must be able to work onsite at our Milpitas, CA office for 40 hours per week.
Bonus Qualifications
• Data Annotation: Experience using labeling tools or annotation platforms.
• Sensor calibration experience.
• ROS2 & Containerization: Exposure to ROS2.
