Our dedicated team of Data Analysts plays a pivotal role in this endeavor, utilizing their deep understanding of Sentry’s data systems and intricate business processes to develop and deliver robust data reporting solutions that directly support strategic business objectives.
We are currently seeking talented individuals for Data Analyst positions within our team, offering two distinct focus areas:
Data Transformation Focus - In this role, you will be responsible for developing data queries to facilitate the creation of datasets that can be used for analysis of key insurance operations. Crucial to Sentry, analysts with a data transformation focus provide critical insights into how business processes influence data and advise on its most effective utilization.
Data Visualization Focus - This role involves the development of impactful business intelligence data visualizations and interactive dashboards. Our business intelligence analysts are instrumental in providing visual insights that aid in the analysis of Sentry’s operational performance and quality metrics.
This position can be filled as a Data Analyst or Data Analyst II depending on the qualifications and experience of the selected candidate.
What You’ll Do
Our Data Analysts gain a deep understanding of business areas, their processes, and their data needs. They then leverage this knowledge to gather, structure, and present data, including developing insightful visualizations, to address user requests. In addition, you’ll:
• Efficiently source and integrate data from both internal and external systems.
• Develop an understanding of business processes and how they impact the flow of data within internal systems.
• Maintain knowledge of the predictive analytics and insurance industries to ensure the best output is provided.
• Work closely with team members to analyze reported results and determine if output meets expected outcomes.
• Assist with the maintenance and testing of data systems and investigate data quality problems.
• Collaborate with team members and IT to resolve data system issues.
What it Takes
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience focusing on data analytics, computer science or similar major.
• Programming experience with Python or similar language preferred.
• Data visualization experience with Tableau software preferred.
• Organizational skills to coordinate, request and control data from numerous sources.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills including analytical and research ability.
• Demonstrated understanding of data systems and tools used for reporting.
• Experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
• Work with purpose ensuring deadlines are met.
