Assistant Data Processing Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION

• Assist in collecting, processing, and validating data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Support the development and maintenance of data pipelines and ETL processes (Extract, Transform, Load).
• Perform data cleaning and transformation to prepare datasets for analysis and reporting.
• Monitor data workflows and identify errors or inconsistencies, escalating issues when necessary.
• Help maintain and update databases and data storage systems.
• Write and optimize basic SQL queries and scripts for data extraction and manipulation.
• Assist in generating reports, dashboards, and visualizations for stakeholders.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and other teams to improve data processing efficiency and automation.
• Document data processes, workflows, and system changes for reference and compliance.
• Ensure adherence to data governance, privacy, and security policies.
• Support troubleshooting and resolve technical issues related to data processing systems.
• Participate in testing and implementation of new tools or system enhancements.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Diploma in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent field of study.
• 0-2 years of experience in data engineering, data processing, IT, or a related field (entry-level friendly).
• Proven experience in data cleaning, transformation, or analysis.
• Experience in working with databases (e.g., SQL).
• Exposure to data processing tools or frameworks (e.g., ETL pipelines).
• Exposure to spreadsheet tools (Excel) or data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
• Familiarity with handling structured and/or unstructured data.
• Experience working in a team or collaborative environment is a plus.

Specific Skills

• Proficiency in SQL (queries, joins, filtering, aggregations).
• Basic programming in Python (e.g., Pandas, Numpy) or similar languages.
• Understanding of ETL processes (Extract, Transform, Load).
• Experience with data cleaning and preprocessing.
• Familiarity with databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, etc.)
• Handling data formats such as CSV, JSON, XML.
• Basic knowledge of data warehousing concepts.
• Exposure to tools like Excel, Power BI, or Tableau.

Working Hours: 
Monday – Thursday: 8:00am – 5.15pm

Friday: 8:00am – 4.30pm
