About this role

Accountabilities:

• Serve as lead counsel on privacy, cybersecurity, AI governance, and data protection matters for MSO operations, including PHI and sensitive healthcare data use.

• Advise on legal requirements for MSO products and services, including data-enabled clinical, operational, and analytics solutions.

• Draft, review, and negotiate complex data and privacy agreements such as BAAs, DPAs, service agreements, and third-party vendor contracts.

• Partner with security and technology teams to ensure alignment with cybersecurity frameworks and secure development practices across MSO platforms.

• Lead legal response efforts for data incidents, including breach assessment, notification obligations, and coordination of internal and external communications.

• Support governance, audits, regulatory inquiries, and executive reporting related to privacy, AI, and cybersecurity risk management.

• Establish scalable legal frameworks and escalation pathways across clinical, technical, compliance, and commercial stakeholders.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 9+ years of legal experience with strong specialization in privacy, cybersecurity, and data governance in regulated industries.

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and active admission to a US state bar.

• Deep expertise in healthcare privacy and security frameworks, including HIPAA/HITECH and applicable state privacy laws.

• Strong understanding of cybersecurity standards and frameworks (e.g., NIST, HITRUST) and AI governance considerations.

• Proven ability to lead complex legal initiatives, supervise outside counsel, and manage high-stakes, multi-stakeholder matters.

• Strong business acumen with the ability to translate legal and regulatory requirements into practical, actionable guidance.

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration skills in fast-paced environments.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities, navigate ambiguity, and operate effectively in a highly dynamic, innovation-driven context.
