Responsibilities
The PJT Partners Technology team is responsible for creating and continuously improving a robust and secure technology foundation that supports the firm’s business activities.
The Data & Applications team within Technology manages business-facing applications and builds the analytics products, AI-powered tools and data infrastructure that connect data, technology and decision-making across the firm. Team members combine finance and business expertise with technical skills in application development, data engineering and data analytics to deliver technology solutions across corporate functions and client advisory.
PJT Partners is seeking a highly motivated Application and Data Product Manager to work on strategic projects within the Data Applications Technology team. In this role, you will partner with key stakeholders to define requirements, manage end-to-end project execution, and ensure seamless collaboration across business, technology, and corporate teams. You will oversee the strategic vision, planning, development, testing, and deployment of various initiatives while driving process improvements, managing risks, and ensuring timely delivery. This position requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Additional responsibilities include:
• Define product vision, roadmap and lead end-to-end delivery across business, technology and corporate teams, managing priorities, risks, and execution;
• Define project scope, goals, and deliverables; translate complex technical and data requirements into actionable plans and develop and maintain detailed project plans to track progress and manage changes to scope, schedule, and costs;
• Partner with stakeholders to document business processes, workflows, and end‑to‑end data flows, including lineage, integration points, and supporting artifacts such as data dictionaries, metadata, and mapping documents;
• Analyze datasets to identify trends, gaps, and insights, and collaborate with technical teams to translate findings into validated data requirements and specifications that are accurately implemented in new capabilities and process improvements;
• Coordinate internal resources and third-party vendors for seamless execution; maintain strong vendor relationships;
• Oversee development, testing, launch, and support phases; manage release testing, change controls, and QA compliance;
• Prepare regular updates and comprehensive documentation for stakeholders; escalate risks and delays as needed;
• Identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies to ensure timely delivery;
• Manage BAU activities, enhancements, defect requests, and support tickets for in-scope systems;
• Drive system optimization and best practices; review current platforms and build report specifications;
• Coordinate application training and communication initiatives.
Qualifications
PJT Partners seeks to hire individuals who are highly motivated, intelligent and have demonstrated excellence in prior endeavors. In addition, qualified candidates will possess the following:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer information systems or related fields;
• 5+ years of working experience as a business analyst, data analyst, product/project manager;
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the demonstrated ability to work with all levels within the organization, including stakeholder management;
• Strong organizational, analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills; accuracy and attention to details;
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple project priorities, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams;
• Demonstrates ability to think end-to-end, connect moving parts, and anticipate and manage project risk;
• Knowledge and experience in the Financial Services industry;
• Understanding application development and Agile Application development methodologies;
• Experience working with third-party vendors. Knowledge of SaaS based platforms, and familiarity with cloud technologies.
Additional Experience We Value:
• Ability to leverage AI tools (e.g. Copilot, Claude) to support analysis, documentation, and workflow efficiency in an enterprise environment;
• Experience with data visualization tools and the development of management reports / dashboards;
• Familiarity with Atlassian Application development/management suite: Confluence & JIRA is a plus.
Expected annualized base salary of $115,000 to $135,000.
This range represents the low and high ends of the expected annualized base salary for this position. The specific base salary received by any employee will be informed by a number of factors, including but not limited to, role level and scope, location, candidate’s relevant qualifications, skills and experience.
Base salary is one component of PJT Partners’ compensation structure. In addition to base salary, PJT Partners’ compensation structure may include additional rewards, incentives and benefits, including but not limited to, a discretionary bonus component.
