Job Description:
The W. P. Carey School of Business seeks an Assurance of Learning Program Coordinator to support the school’s strategic initiatives and commitment to continuous improvement through comprehensive assurance of learning processes. As the largest business school in the United States, W. P. Carey serves more than 25,000 students across 50+ degree programs on five campuses. To maintain and advance academic excellence, the school conducts comprehensive annual assurance of learning activities across all programs.
Assurance of learning is a core function of the Education–Academic Programs team, which is dedicated to academic excellence, curricular operations, and the collaborative development of relevant and innovative academic offerings.
The Assurance of Learning Program Coordinator will coordinate assurance of learning efforts by partnering with faculty and staff to implement meaningful assessment tools within the learning management system for undergraduate and graduate learning competencies. Additionally, the coordinator will manage assessment data collection, tracking and analysis; translate complex datasets into actionable insights; and develop clear, visually engaging reports that support accreditation efforts and data-informed decision-making.
This position blends learning design, assessment operations, data analysis, and visualization skills to ensure accurate, meaningful, and actionable reporting across W. P. Carey’s academic programs. The role also requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to manage relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Salary Range: $51,500-$62,400 annually; to commensurate with education and experience
Essential Duties:
(30%) Program Coordination
• Develop and execute process to ensure assessment data is collected for each academic program on all campuses each year.
• Track assurance of learning activities across the college, including courses participating, learning objectives, artifacts, and timing of assessment.
• Consistently provide relevant and updated assessment information to technology team to ensure accuracy and usability of dashboard.
• Manage process to streamline building effective assessment tools in Canvas and tracking progress each term.
• Work as partner to University Office of Evaluation and Educational Effectiveness assessment team to meet ASU assessment planning and reporting expectations.
(30%) Data Management & Reporting
• Using the LMS and in collaboration with Learning and Design team, track assessment tools and progress each term in relevant courses across the college.
• Maintain organized records to support accreditation reviews, including results, findings, and curriculum revisions year-over-year.
• Design, build, and maintain advanced Excel tools for reporting assurance of learning results for degree types, programs, and campuses.
• Use assurance of learning data points to identify trends and develop insights into opportunities for improvement.
• Develop clear, concise, and visually effective results summaries for faculty, college leadership, and accreditors.
(20%) Stakeholder Engagement
• Communicate assurance of learning needs, expectations, status, and findings with faculty in group settings and one-on-one.
• Use assessment results and insights to help faculty build, update, and enhance assessment plans and reports.
• Serve as resource to W. P. Carey faculty and academic units for assurance of learning.
• Maintain relationships with assessment partners across campus.
(15%) Process Improvement
• Evaluate assessment plans and reports annually to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure consistency with assurance of learning goals.
• Consistently review and help streamline assurance of learning processes within the college, including accreditation cycle reporting, annual program assessment reporting, and semester data collection.
(5%) Other Duties
• Other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications:
• Familiarity with Arizona State University and The New American University charter
• Experience working in higher education setting
• Knowledge of higher education accreditation standards, policies and processes
• Experience with instructional design and using a Learning Management System, preferably Canvas
• Advanced Excel capabilities
• Experience with data visualization tools
• Experience translating data sets into useful information to drive decision-making
• Experience using AI for data reporting
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects at one time
• Ability to work independently
Working Environment:
• Work is primarily performed in an indoor office environment.
• This position is eligible for hybrid work arrangement. Employees are expected to work on-site at their primary ASU work location for a minimum of 60% of their regular workweek. Remote work may be performed for the remainder, based on business needs. Hybrid arrangements are subject to approval at the dean or vice president level.
