What You’ll Do
Sol de Janeiro is looking for a BI / Analytics Engineer to own and evolve our business intelligence platform. This role is the primary owner of the Domo environment, responsible for building and maintaining the dashboards, data pipelines, and reporting infrastructure that our business relies on for day-to-day decisions. You will work closely with stakeholders across Finance, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Operations to translate business questions into reliable, self-service analytics.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on BI platform experience, practical SQL skills for last-mile data shaping, and enough understanding of data engineering concepts to speak the same language as the analysts and engineers they will work alongside. This is not a support role, and it is not an island. You will own the BI layer end-to-end while partnering closely with the broader data team on everything upstream.
What You'll be Working On
Platform Ownership & Dashboard Development
• Own the Domo platform: administration, user management, governance, and performance optimization.
• Design, build, and maintain dashboards, cards, and data applications that serve business stakeholders across departments.
• Ensure all reporting is accurate, consistent, and aligned with defined KPI standards.
• Develop and enforce best practices for dashboard design, naming conventions, and content organization within the platform.
Data Pipelines & Integration
• Build and maintain data ingestion workflows that bring data into Domo from source systems including SAP S/4HANA, Databricks, and third-party platforms.
• Monitor data jobs and ingestion schedules, investigate issues, and coordinate with data engineers to resolve failures before they impact downstream reporting.
• Apply last-mile SQL transformations within Domo to shape, filter, and prepare data for dashboard consumption. Complex data modeling, joins, and warehouse logic are handled by the data engineering team.
• Work closely with data analysts, data engineers, and the Data Architect to coordinate on upstream data needs, flag issues at the source, and ensure the data flowing into the BI layer is accurate and complete.
Stakeholder Engagement & Enablement
• Serve as the primary point of contact for all business intelligence requests and questions from stakeholders.
• Partner with business teams and data analysts to understand reporting needs, translate requirements into technical specifications, and deliver solutions.
• Enable self-service analytics by training business users on Domo features, dashboard navigation, and data interpretation.
• Proactively identify opportunities where new dashboards, alerts, or data products can improve decision-making or reduce manual effort.
Data Quality & Governance
• Ensure uniform KPI definitions and calculations across all dashboards and reports, maintaining a single source of truth for business metrics.
• Build and maintain data validation processes that flag inconsistencies, gaps, or anomalies in source data before they surface in reports.
• Maintain clear documentation for data sources, mappings, transformation logic, and ETL workflows.
• Partner with IT and compliance teams to ensure data handling within the BI platform meets security and privacy requirements.
Must Haves
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5+ years of experience working with business intelligence platforms, including dashboard development, data modeling, and pipeline management.
• Hands-on experience with Domo strongly preferred, including platform administration and data job configuration.
• Comfortable with SQL for querying, data validation, and last-mile transformations within a BI platform. This role does not require deep data engineering SQL, but you should be able to write and troubleshoot queries confidently.
• Understanding of ETL concepts and familiarity with data integration methods (connectors, APIs, SFTP, cloud data platforms).
• Experience working with ERP data (SAP S/4HANA preferred) and understanding how data flows through finance, supply chain, and operations systems.
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, or similar environments.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions and present findings to non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
