Overview
Join an innovative cellular connectivity team working at the intersection of artificial intelligence, robotics, and design to advance cellular connectivity solutions for autonomous use cases. As a Cellular Systems Engineer, you'll propel the next generation of mobility-as-a-service, revolutionizing robotics ecosystems. You'll leverage your expertise to ensure system reliability and performance, enhancing the end-to-end quality-of-service for autonomous applications.
Responsibilities
• Collaborate with connectivity system, firmware, and software teams to identify, process, and interpret critical device and service performance attributes.
• Lead as the technical expert in analyzing modem-level field logs using chipset tools such as Qualcomm QXDM and Samsung Shannon, developing programmatic tools for diagnosing throughput drops, handover failures, and connectivity issues.
• Develop and deploy end-to-end automation tools to scale the identification and processing of performance attributes.
• Interpret KPIs and recommend architectural changes or reconfigurations to improve end-to-end quality-of-service and system performance.
• Work with system architecture and engineering teams to design and prototype connectivity solutions across 4G-LTE, 5G NR, and WiFi/GPS, meeting the needs of autonomous driving use cases.
• Collaborate and participate in cellular connectivity field measurements and data collection and analysis of field data for improvements
Minimum Qualifications
• B.Eng/M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• Expert-level knowledge of 4G-LTE and 5G-NR air interfaces, focusing on L1-L3 layers.
• Familiarity with IEEE 802 protocols and TCP/IP networking.
• Extensive experience with modem-level chipset tools like Qualcomm QXDM/QCAT and Samsung ShannonDM.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex live network issues, including mobility management and interference analysis.
• Strong proficiency in Python for automation tool development and log analysis.
• Familiarity with RAN and Core Network architectures and their impact on system performance.
• 3–5+ years of experience in the cellular protocol domain.
Preferred Qualifications
• Advanced programming skills in additional scripting languages.
• Experience with cutting-edge wireless technologies and forthcoming protocols, enhancing connectivity for dynamic mobile networks.
CA Base Pay
$140,000—$200,000 USD
