What you will be doing
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and implement SQL-based transformations, queries, and database objects that support enterprise analytics and reporting.
• Architect and manage curated, analytics-ready datasets and data models within the Databricks Lakehouse environment, ensuring alignment with enterprise data standards.
• Lead the transformation of raw and source-system data into structured, reusable datasets aligned with enterprise analytics needs.
• Develop scalable data logic that simplifies data access for analysts, BI tools, and downstream data products.
• Define and promote best practices for data modeling, transformation logic, and performance optimization across all stakeholders.
• Optimize query performance and data transformations to ensure efficient processing and scalability across large datasets.
• Collaborate with the Data Team and business stakeholders to translate requirements into well-defined data structures and logic ; serve as a subject matter expert.
• Investigate and resolve data discrepancies, lineage issues, and quality concerns across data assets.
• Maintain clear documentation for datasets, transformations, and data definitions to support transparency and reuse.
• Ensure compliance with enterprise data governance, security standards, and HIPAA requirements when working with sensitive healthcare data.
Qualifications
Required
• 8+ years of experience developing SQL-based data solutions in analytics or data engineering environments.
• Deep proficiency in SQL development, including complex joins, aggregations, window functions, and query performance optimization.
• Strong experience working with large-scale datasets in relational or analytical database environments.
• Experience designing curated datasets, semantic layers, or data models that support reporting and analytics use cases.
• Experience driving data design decisions and influencing best practices across teams.
• Familiarity with modern data platforms and cloud-based analytics environments.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to independently lead investigations into data issues and drive resolution.
Preferred
• Experience working with Databricks and lakehouse architectures.
• Experience in healthcare data environments.
• Familiarity with modern CI/CD pipelines and development practices
• Experience supporting BI and analytics tools such as Sigma.
• Knowledge of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, or analytics engineering best practices.
