About the job:

As a Data Engineering Intern at Opella, you will support the design, development, and maintenance of our data infrastructure and pipelines. You will work alongside experienced data engineers, data scientists, and analysts to help ensure that data is accessible, reliable, and actionable.

This role is designed to provide hands-on experience with modern data platforms and tools, including Databricks, Python, dbt, and Airflow, while developing a strong foundation in cloud-based data engineering (AWS, Azure).

Main Responsibilities:

• Assist in building and maintaining data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes using Databricks, Python, Airflow, and dbt.

• Support the development and optimization of data models and schemas for analytics and reporting.

• Collaborate with team members to understand data requirements and contribute to scalable data solutions.

• Help monitor data workflows and assist in troubleshooting issues to ensure data quality and availability.

• Participate in data integration tasks across cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.

• Learn and apply data engineering best practices and industry standards.

About you:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.

• Fluent English for writing and speaking
• Basic knowledge of Python or another programming language.

• Familiarity with SQL and relational databases.

• Interest in data engineering concepts such as ETL/ELT, data modeling, and data warehousing.

• Eagerness to learn tools like Databricks, Airflow, and dbt.

• Basic understanding of cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) is a plus.

• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

• Good communication skills and willingness to collaborate in a team environment.
