We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Data Analyst 1 to join our Data & Analytics team in Langley, BC.
Reporting to the Lead Data Analyst, the Data Analyst 1 role supports business decision-making through data analysis, reporting, and insight generation. This position works closely with business stakeholders to understand key questions, translate them into analytical approaches, and deliver clear, actionable insights.
This role also supports the Power BI Center of Excellence by contributing to scalable reporting solutions, governance, standardization, and self-service BI enablement across the organization. The Data Analyst 1 works across initiatives in areas such as customer analytics, loyalty, marketing, retail operations, and merchandising, using large and complex datasets to identify trends, measure outcomes, and uncover opportunities to drive business value.
You will be responsible for:
• Partnering with business stakeholders to understand priorities, business questions, processes, and KPIs.
• Building reports, dashboards, and visualizations in Power BI that communicate findings clearly and effectively to stakeholders.
• Supporting the development of scalable, standardized reporting solutions aligned with Power BI COE principles and best practices.
• Developing and maintaining Power BI solutions using advanced capabilities such as DAX, data modeling, and performance optimization.
• Contributing to semantic model and enterprise dataset design to support consistency, usability, and reuse across reporting.
• Supporting Power BI Service administration activities such as workspace organization, security access, dataset refreshes, and report lifecycle management.
• Monitoring and improving report performance, scalability, and usability to support a strong end-user experience.
• Writing SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and prepare data for analysis and reporting.
• Using Python and notebook-based tools for exploratory analysis, data wrangling, and statistical work where needed.
• Validating, troubleshooting, and improving data used in reporting and analysis.
• Collaborating with Data Engineering and other technical partners to support data provisioning, model optimization, and reporting readiness.
• Supporting user enablement through documentation, training, and guidance that helps strengthen self-service BI capabilities across the business.
• Building knowledge of core datasets, reporting logic, governance practices, and business context within the assigned analytics domain.
• Supporting broader Data & Analytics team priorities and cross-functional projects as required.
You have:
• A degree in a relevant field such as statistics, mathematics, computer science, engineering, economics, or another quantitative discipline.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in data analytics, business analytics, reporting, or a related field.
• Strong working knowledge of SQL for querying and transforming data.
• Hands-on experience building dashboards, reports, and visualizations in Power BI.
• Experience with advanced Power BI development, including DAX, data modeling, and report performance optimization.
• Familiarity with semantic models and enterprise dataset design.
• Exposure to Power BI Service administration, including workspaces, security, refresh management, and deployment practices.
• The ability to design reporting solutions that are scalable, governed, and aligned with business needs.
• Experience working with large or complex datasets in modern analytics environments.
• Working knowledge of Python for data analysis is preferred.
• Exposure to user enablement, training, or supporting self-service BI is an asset.
• Familiarity with cloud and modern data platforms such as Azure Synapse, Databricks, and Microsoft Fabric is an asset.
• Experience collaborating with Data Engineering or technical data teams is an asset.

Compensation Details:
$74,029.00 - $92,536.00The compensation offered for this position will take into consideration location, education, skills, experience and other factors.
