Data & Automation Leader
About this role
The Data & Automation Leader is the R&D leader accountable for defining and delivering New Corteva R&D’s data science, data platform, analytics, bioinformatics, computational chemistry, automation and engineering, and AI enablement strategy . The role leads cross-disciplinary teams to accelerate R&D outcomes, enable scalable, data-driven decision-making, and deliver high-value solutions for R&D. This leader also ensures scientists have access to the systems, equipment, automation, and resources needed to optimize delivery of R&D priorities. This leader connects data and technology investments to R&D value creation by ensuring platforms, products, and automation capabilities are reliable, scalable, secure, and aligned to R&D priorities. The role partners to define the transformational R&D AI strategy with R&D subfunctions, Integrated Enterprise Systems, Integrated Operations, and the RDLT to prioritize, enable, and execute digital investments. The leader builds and evolves a high-performing, collaborative, product-oriented organization, while continuing to meet R&D needs. This leader will also be responsible for building their talent and recruitment strategy to ensure they have the right talent to recruit, retain, and develop for their future.
Essential Functions:
Solution Implementation & Adoption
• Own the implementation and adoption of functional solutions across defined business areas, ensuring delivery against approved scope, timelines, and measurable business outcomes.
Business–Technology Translation
• Serve as a key translator between business leaders and technical teams by defining solution requirements, clarifying trade‑offs, and ensuring solutions are practical, scalable, and user‑centered.
Enterprise & Cross‑Functional Partnership
• Partner with local, regional, and global stakeholders to coordinate implementation activities, align priorities, surface risks, and ensure solutions integrate effectively across processes and teams.
Training & Enablement Execution
• Lead the design and execution of training and enablement plans that drive consistent adoption, increase capability, and reinforce new ways of working post‑deployment.
Customer Insight & Continuous Improvement
• Gather and synthesize customer feedback and competitive insights to recommend solution refinements and inform future enhancements within established roadmaps.
Execution Planning & Governance
• Develop and manage detailed implementation plans, milestones, risks, and controls; escalate issues appropriately and ensure alignment with enterprise modernization standards.
End‑to‑End Process Awareness
• Apply a strong understanding of end‑to‑end business processes to ensure solutions effectively support operational needs while advancing modernization objectives.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
• Proven experience leading multi‑disciplinary technical teams and delivering solutions at scale.
• Strong understanding of modern data architectures, analytics, automation, and data science product delivery.
• Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders, translate their needs, build strategy, and guide implementation.
• Experience supporting R&D, scientific, or product development organizations.
• Experience operating in regulated or data‑intensive environments.
• Familiarity with agile, product management, and value‑based delivery models.

Minimum Education Required:
• Master’s degree in data science, engineering, computer science, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience across data science, data engineering, analytics platforms, or digital enablement in complex environments.
• 5+ years of people leadership experience leading technical teams.
