Data Center Infrastructure Architect
About this role
Accountabilities:
• Design and architect physical data center infrastructure, including network, server, GPU, rack layouts, cabling, power, and cooling systems
• Develop and evaluate hardware deployment strategies, including BOM creation aligned with scalability, redundancy, and security requirements
• Partner with internal teams and vendors to define infrastructure standards and ensure alignment with business and technical needs
• Oversee installation and implementation processes, working with facilities teams, contractors, and vendors during data center builds and expansions
• Validate physical deployments against architectural designs and troubleshoot hardware or connectivity issues as needed
• Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including diagrams, cable schedules, and infrastructure records for technical and non-technical audiences
• Collaborate with project management teams to track infrastructure delivery timelines and execution milestones
• Support knowledge sharing and training for internal teams on physical infrastructure design and operations
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience
• 7+ years of experience in server infrastructure, with at least 3 years in a senior architecture or design-focused role
• Strong experience working with colocation, hyperscale, or enterprise data center environments
• Deep understanding of networking hardware, cabling systems, and physical infrastructure design
• Expertise in server hardware, storage systems, and infrastructure configuration at scale
• Solid knowledge of data center operations, including power, cooling, monitoring, and facility standards
• Working knowledge of Linux and common network operating systems
• Proven experience leading large-scale infrastructure projects from design through deployment
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration abilities
• Highly organized, self-driven, and capable of managing multiple complex priorities
