Job Summary
The Data Operations Specialist is responsible for analyzing commission statements, performing audit reconciliations, resolving financial discrepancies, and serving as the primary point of contact for producer payment inquiries. This role ensures that all commission related data is accurate, timely, and compliant with internal controls. It requires strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly.
Responsibilities
• Commission Analysis — Review, interpret, and validate commission statements from carriers, partners, or internal systems to ensure accuracy and alignment with contractual terms.
• Audit Reconciliations — Perform detailed reconciliations between expected and actual commission payments, identifying gaps, variances, and root causes.
• Discrepancy Resolution — Investigate and resolve commission discrepancies by collaborating with carriers, Broker Support Team .
• Producer Payment Support — Respond to producer inquiries regarding payments, statements, adjustments, and commission structures with clarity and professionalism.
• Data Quality Assurance — Maintain high data integrity by validating inputs, monitoring data flows, and ensuring compliance with internal controls.
• Reporting & Insights — Generate recurring and ad-hoc reports on commission trends, discrepancies, and payment performance metrics.
• Process Optimization — Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, automate manual tasks, and enhance operational efficiency.
Requirements
• Analytical Skills — Ability to interpret financial data, identify patterns, and solve complex reconciliation issues.
• Excel Proficiency — Strong command of formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data validation.
• Financial Acumen — Understanding of commission structures, payment cycles, and financial controls.
• Attention to Detail — High accuracy in data review and documentation.
• Problem-Solving — Strong investigative mindset for resolving discrepancies.
• Time Management — Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Systems Knowledge — Experience with commission platforms and high excel proficiency.
Education and Experience
• Insurance or Financial Services Background — Familiarity with producer commissions, carrier statements, or brokerage operations.
• Data Operations Experience — Prior work in data-heavy operational roles.
Candidates should be comfortable with an on-site presence to support collaboration, team leadership, and cross-functional partnership.
