About the Team

At AXIS, robust and scalable data operations are essential to delivering trusted insights and enabling innovation. As Data Operations Support Lead, you will be responsible for ensuring our data infrastructure and tooling are reliable, well-supported, and fit for future needs. You will lead the operational interface between Data & Analytics (D&A) and our Accenture support team—ensuring seamless delivery, proactive issue resolution, and continuous improvement.

You’ll sit within the Data Operations team, working closely with Architecture, BTS, and Accenture to ensure our data ecosystem is resilient, efficient, and aligned with business needs.

What will you be doing in this role?

• Lead Data Support Operations: Own and evolve the support model for our cloud data strategy, ensuring stability and scalability.

• Be the SME for Data Framework: Partner with Architecture to provide deep expertise on pipeline design, performance, and troubleshooting.

• Tooling Support Leadership: Oversee operational support for key data tools (Databricks, Azure, Fabric etc) acting as the D&A liaison to Security, Infrastructure, Application Maintenance and Accenture teams.

• Enable Maintenance Readiness: Ensure transformation deliverables are production-ready, with clear ownership and support pathways.

• Drive Knowledge Transfer: Lead structured handovers from D&A to BTS Accenture, ensuring documentation and training are complete and effective.

• Collaborate Across Teams: Work cross-functionally to align operational processes with upstream architecture and downstream business needs.

• You may also be asked to take on additional responsibilities aligned with the nature and scope of this role.

Reporting Line

This role reports to the Head of Data Management & Operations.

About you:

What we’re looking for from you:

• Proven experience in data operations, ideally within cloud-based environments and the (re)insurance industry.

• Strong understanding of data framework/architecture and orchestration tools

• Oversee the control framework and design management, monitor schedules, and support end-to-end processing.

• Experience managing vendor relationships and outsourced development/support teams.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and business teams

• Ability to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

What we offer:

For this position, we currently expect to offer a base salary in the range of $125,000 - $150,000 CAD (Halifax, Nova Scotia). Your salary offer will be based on an assessment of a variety of factors including your specific experience and work location.
