Job Summary
Responsible for leading teams that deliver technology solutions, projects & support enterprise platforms such as CRM, ERP, Workday etc with an acute focus on data and data integrations with other systems. Provide the leadership required to resource and execute the implementation of solutions to address current and future business needs across the enterprise. Internal business consultant in the support of evolving the company's IT capabilities and services.
This role will have deep expertise around industry best practices in the various aspects of enterprise systems, technology trends, horse racing industry, pari-mutuel wagering and ability to implement solutions to enable key business strategies. Proven track record and ability to balance desired capabilities end-state within program/environment constraints and with a pragmatic lens. Pari-mutuel wagering within the horse racing industry experience required.
Strategy & Planning
• Plan and coordinate the processes required for the provisioning of data integration and management systems necessary for business operations. This includes evaluating and managing applications and making recommendations regarding upgrades or changes.
• Manage and co-ordinate the daily activities of a team of database administrators, developers and data & integration specialists.
• Lead pre-testing phase of development by evaluating proposals from the team in order to identify potential problem areas, and make appropriate recommendations to address.
• Responsible for developing an organizational data strategy, governing the strategy & execution.
• Be a collaborative business partner to plan, execute, and manage new programs and projects meeting business requirements (including but not limited to scope & budget)
Acquisition & Deployment
• Manage the development and deployment of new applications, systems software, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout the enterprise as well as coordinate all activities related to the integration of software programs, databases and third-party solutions as required to meet the business requirements of the organization
• Research and make recommendations on software products and services in support of procurement and development efforts.
• Coordinate feasibility studies for software and system products under consideration for purchase, and give advice based on findings.
• Ensure that any new software acquisition/integration into company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications.
• Collaborate with analysts, designers, and system owners in the testing of new software programs and applications.
• Oversee a team of Product/Program Managers to ensure business and technology projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Operational Management
• Manage and provide direction for the team of database administrators, developers and data & integration specialists in support of business operations.
• Identify and resolve program errors.
• Provide technical leadership to project managers, data and integration specialists, DBAs and programmers working on development project teams.
• Design, develop, and install enhancements and upgrades to systems and application software.
• Liaise with the broader technology team to assist with quality assurance, program logic, and data processing.
• Cultivate, disseminate, and enforce functional policies, procedures, and quality assurance best practices.
• Provide code review to ensure development team adheres to department’s polices and standards
• Where necessary, prepare, establish, and monitor budgets.
People Management and Leadership
• Oversee a team of database administrator, developers, integration specialists and program managers fostering a culture of inclusion, collaboration, integrity & accountability
• Ensure cross-training within the team to eliminate single points of failure/risk
• Mentor/coach the team and develop succession plans for critical roles

Salary range: $145,000 - $160,000
