Search is no longer a single channel. A patient researching âbest treatment for cystic acneâ might ask ChatGPT, click a Google result, or get served a paid ad â sometimes all three in the same session. We want Honeydew winning all of it.
Weâre looking for a Director of Integrated Search to unite our entire search acquisition surface: organic SEO, AI search visibility (AEO/GEO), and paid search.
Youâll report directly to Honeydewâs Head of Growth Connor Kreutz https://www.linkedin.com/in/connorkreutz/, and youâll work with our rockstar paid search lead, whoâs driving paid search forward today.
This is a high-ownership, high-autonomy role. Youâll join paid and organic search programs performing strongly, and youâll bring them to the next level. The right person thinks about search psychologically, not just mechanically: understanding what someone is really asking when they type a query, and building the architecture to meet them there across every surface.

- Think in systems â you see how organic authority, paid signals, and AI citations reinforce each other, and you can scale that system to support acquisition goals
- Have genuine intuition about search intent â the psychology behind a query, not just its volume. You think about the holistic patient journey for folks who find Honeydew through these channels.
- Can work with a talented paid search lead and build a high-performance team over the long-run
- Move fast and own outcomes â you donât need a big team or a perfect brief to create leverage
- Translate search performance into business impact â signups and revenue
WHAT YOUâLL DO
ORGANIC SEARCH (SEO)
- Own and execute Honeydewâs organic search strategy end-to-end â from technical infrastructure to content architecture to link authority
- Build topical authority frameworks in dermatology, skincare, and telehealth that compound over time
- Drive large-scale content production: briefing, AI-assisted drafting, editing, publishing, and ongoing optimization
- Conduct competitive analysis and keyword research with a focus on high-intent, acquisition-driving queries
- Partner with engineering on site speed, Core Web Vitals, structured data, and crawlability
- Own technical SEO hygiene: schema markup, JSON-LD, canonicalization, indexation, and internal linking architecture
AI SEARCH VISIBILITY (AEO/GEO)
- Lead Honeydewâs strategy for showing up in AI-generated answers across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Google AI Overviews, and emerging platforms
- Structure content to be LLM-friendly: passage-level optimization, conversational formatting, semantically rich answer blocks
- Build and own AI citation tracking and reporting â establish baselines, set targets, iterate
- Test content formats, structures, and distribution approaches that improve citation rates across AI surfaces
- Drive earned media and backlink strategy that builds the domain authority and off-site presence LLMs reward
- Stay ahead of how agentic AI and ambient search are reshaping patient discovery behavior in healthcare
PAID SEARCH (SEM)
- Partner with our Growth Lead https://www.linkedin.com/in/zyanyaotal/ who owns paid search today â support setting priorities and be a sounding board for strategy
- Contribute to strategy setting across ~$500K+/month in paid search spend on Google and eventually Bing
- Own the integration between paid and organic: ensure keyword strategy, landing pages, and messaging are coherent across both channels
- Be fluent enough in paid search principles and mechanics to contribute to bid strategy, audience targeting, and campaign architecture decisions
STRATEGY & REPORTING
- Build and own a unified search performance dashboard that ties organic, AI, and paid performance to patient acquisition
- Develop a search roadmap with clear priorities, experiments, and milestones â and report on it regularly to leadership
- Identify cross-channel leverage: where organic authority reduces paid CPAs, where paid data informs organic targeting, where AI citations amplify both
- Run structured experiments across channels and make fast, data-driven decisions from them
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED
- 5â7+ years of search experience with a strong organic foundation and demonstrated track record of driving acquisition growth
- Deep technical SEO expertise: site architecture, structured data, Core Web Vitals, crawl management, and schema implementation
- Genuine AEO/GEO fluency â youâve built strategies for AI search visibility, tracked citation performance, and iterated on results
- Working knowledge of paid search: Google Ads, campaign structure, bidding strategy, Quality Score, and performance analysis
- Proven ability to manage and develop an IC â you know how to set direction, give useful feedback, and make people better
- Strong content strategy instincts â you understand what makes content rankable, citable, and convertible
- CRO fluency: you know how to connect search traffic to conversion and have run tests to prove it
- Proficiency with SEO tooling: Ahrefs, SEMrush, Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Looker Studio
- Strong analytical skills â you can build a reporting framework, interpret data, and make fast decisions from it
- High agency and self-direction â you donât need a perfect brief to move, and you donât rattle under ambiguity
NICE TO HAVE
- Experience in healthcare, telehealth, wellness, or other YMYL/E-E-A-T regulated verticals
- Background in digital PR or earned media, with experience building backlink programs through content and outreach
- Hands-on paid search management experience (beyond strategic oversight)
- Familiarity with Webflow CMS or similar modern web platforms
- Experience with LLM citation tracking tools (Otterly, Profound, or equivalent)
- Working knowledge of HTML/CSS and ability to implement basic technical fixes independently
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
$172,000â$185,000 depending on experience, plus:
