Lonza Pharma & Biotech has an exciting opportunity for a Scientist / Engineer II to join our Biomanufacturing R&D team in Bend, Oregon. In this role, you will work with a highly collaborative, cross-disciplinary group of scientists and engineers focused on advancing biologics manufacturing technologies that improve patient outcomes.

What you will do

• Design and execute experiments in a mammalian bioreactor environment

• Analyze, interpret, and clearly communicate experimental data and results

• Apply scientific and engineering fundamentals in a hypothesis-driven setting

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including computational scientists

• Support technology development and transfer across the Lonza network

• Maintain accurate laboratory documentation and experimental records

• Contribute to safe, efficient, and high-quality laboratory operations

What we are looking for

• A bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, bioengineering, biology, or biochemistry

• A solid foundation in scientific or engineering principles

• Experience working in a biology laboratory environment

• Interest or experience in mammalian cell culture is preferred

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• A collaborative mindset and willingness to learn beyond your specialization

• Motivation to contribute to continuous improvement and innovation
