Financial Analyst - Budgeting and Forecasting

Job Summary
The System Planning Financial Analyst supports enterprise-wide financial planning, forecasting, and analysis initiatives across the health system. This role focuses on execution, data analysis, and coordination in support of the annual budget, rolling forecast, and strategic planning processes.
The analyst works under established governance and methodologies, partnering with Corporate FP&A and regional finance teams to produce accurate, timely, and consistent planning deliverables. This role is well-suited for a developing FP&A professional building system-level experience.
Essential Functions
• Support preparation of system annual budgets, forecasts, and scenario analyses under defined assumptions and timelines.
• Perform detailed financial and operational analyses, including variance and trend analysis, to support planning discussions.
• Maintain and update planning models, templates, and reports in Adaptive Planning, Excel, and related tools.
• Assist with consolidation, validation, and reconciliation of regional and functional planning submissions.
• Prepare input and supporting materials for presentations, dashboards, and leadership reviews.
• Help document planning assumptions, timelines, and process guidance.
• Collaborate with Accounting, HR, Supply Chain, and Data & Analytics teams to support aligned inputs to the planning process.
• Identify data issues or process gaps and escalate appropriately.
Qualifications
Required
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
• 1 plus years of experience in financial planning & analysis, healthcare finance, or corporate FP&A (health system experience strongly preferred).
• Strong financial modeling and analytical skills with advanced Excel proficiency.
• Ability to work effectively in a matrixed, system-level environment with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance leaders.
• Demonstrated attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a planning-driven environment.
• Intellectual curiosity and a process-improvement mindset; comfortable navigating ambiguity during large-scale transformations.
Preferred
• 1+ years of experience in financial planning & analysis, healthcare finance, or corporate FP&A (health system experience strongly preferred).
