Fire Modeling Support (Operations Research)
About this role
Job Description
Position Summary
This position provides technical support for the testing and validation of mathematical models used in wildfire suppression scheduling. The role focuses on applying Linear Programming (LP) and Integer Programming (IP) to mimic MTT algorithm to predict fire spread and optimize mitigation activities. We are seeking candidates with a deep interest in mathematical theories and formulations to help bridge the gap between operations research and wildfire science. This recruitment is open to external candidates and students from any institution to ensure a broad pool of applicants interested in applied optimization.
