Job Summary
Synechron is seeking a highly skilled RSL Specialist with extensive experience in Advent Geneva to lead the design, development, and optimization of complex reporting and data integration layers. This role serves as a technical bridge between fund accounting requirements and their implementation, utilizing Report Scripting Language (RSL) to deliver accurate, reliable, and regulatory-compliant financial reports. The expert will collaborate closely with fund accountants, portfolio managers, and cross-functional teams to support enterprise data flows, system performance, and operational efficiency.
Software Requirements
Required Software Proficiency:
• Advent Geneva (version 15.0 or higher) — deep expertise in report development, system architecture, and data integration (5–8 years of experience)
• Report Scripting Language (RSL) — advanced proficiency in writing, troubleshooting, and optimizing reports
• SQL (T-SQL or PL/SQL) — strong command for data validation, reconciliation, and database queries
• SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) — experience in designing and managing enterprise reports supporting fund accounting
• Unix/Linux commands and shell scripting (Bash/Korn) — strong experience automating processes and managing backend environments
• Data loading and extraction tools: Geneva Loaders, RSL extractors, AGA (Advent Geneva Advantage) — comprehensive knowledge of data extract and load procedures
Preferred Software Skills:
• Version control tools: Git, Bitbucket — support for code management and versioning
• Automation and scripting: PowerShell, Python — optional enhancement for automation support
• Cloud environments supporting Geneva (supports, but not mandatory)
Overall Responsibilities
• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of complex RSL scripts for fund reporting (P&L, Trial Balance, regulatory reports) including data validation, reconciliation, and extracts
• Develop and optimize data integration components such as Geneva Loaders, AGA, and extractors to ensure seamless data flow across systems
• Collaborate with fund accountants, data teams, and technical stakeholders to translate financial requirements into effective reports and data solutions
• Conduct impact assessments, feasibility analysis, and solution assessments for system upgrades and migrations
• Manage end-to-end testing of reports, data loads, and system interfaces, ensuring accuracy and compliance with scheme rules (Visa, Mastercard, etc.)
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex report errors, performance bottlenecks, or data discrepancies quickly and effectively
• Support system and process automation through scripting, job scheduling, and optimized workflows
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of report designs, data flows, configuration settings, and operational procedures
• Support compliance, audit activities, and regulatory reporting standards such as PCI DSS and industry-specific guidelines
• Drive continuous improvement processes, automation, and best practices for report development and data integration

Experience Requirements
• 5–8 years supporting fund accounting, financial systems, or enterprise data management in investment or banking environments
• Proven experience designing, developing, and deploying complex reports and data integration workflows in Advent Geneva systems
• Hands-on support of scheme compliance, scheme simulator validation, and financial data reconciliation
• Experience supporting large fund portfolios, reconciliation, and regulatory reporting cycles
• Alternative pathways include extensive experience supporting financial data systems with a focus on transaction processing and regulatory standards
Day-to-Day Activities
• Develop, test, and support complex RSL scripts for fund reports and data extracts supporting P&L, TB, and regulatory submissions
• Manage and optimize data loads using Geneva Loaders, AGA, and extractors, improving throughput and accuracy
• Troubleshoot and resolve report generation issues, data discrepancies, and system errors efficiently
• Collaborate with fund accountants, data architects, and technical teams to refine reporting processes and data flows
• Support system upgrades, schema migrations, and compliance audits
• Conduct impact analysis and feasibility assessments for new system features or upgrades
• Document report designs, data flows, and operational procedures for audit and support readiness
• Lead root-cause analysis for report errors, data mismatches, or system performance issues
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Finance, Information Technology, or related fields
• 5+ years of experience supporting or developing reports and data integration for fund accounting or financial systems, preferably working with Advent Geneva systems
• Certifications related to fund accounting systems or enterprise reporting (preferred)
• Proven expertise supporting large portfolio transaction data, regulatory reporting, and compliance standards
