Role Description
• The Head of Data Governance is a senior role responsible for driving the effective implementation and operation of the organisation’s data governance framework. The role ensures that data is well‑governed, trusted, and fit for purpose, supporting regulatory compliance, risk management, and business decision‑making.
• Based in Jaipur, the role operates as part of a globally data and analytics team, partnering closely with business, technology, risk. The role provides hands‑on leadership of governance processes, forums, and standards, acting as the focal point for data governance execution while aligning to bank‑wide frameworks and expectations.
• A core element of the role is the ownership and operation of the Data Forum (Data Governance Council), providing a structured mechanism to drive accountability, prioritisation, and decision‑making on data standards, quality, and usage across key data domains, and ensuing compliance with bank wide data standards.

Your key responsibilities
Data Governance Framework and Execution
• Lead the implementation and ongoing operation of the data governance framework, policies, and standards in line with enterprise and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure consistent application of governance practices across data domains, balancing central standards with business accountability.
• Act as a senior point of coordination for data governance activities across business.
Data Forum / Data Governance Council
• Own and run the Data Forum (Data Governance Council), including agenda setting, governance cadence, documentation, and follow‑up of actions and decisions.
• Facilitate senior stakeholder engagement to drive decisions on data standards, data usage, remediation priorities, and data‑related change.
• Track and report governance outcomes, including decisions taken, issues escalated, and progress against remediation plans.
Data Quality, Lineage, and Transparency
• Oversee data quality governance, including identification of critical data elements, definition of quality standards, and monitoring of key data issues, including introducing forward data tools like lineage and data quality agents.
• Promote transparency through governance reporting, metrics, and issue tracking.
• Partner with Technology and Architecture teams to ensure data lineage and metadata capabilities support governance, control, and audit needs.

Regulatory and Control Alignment
• Support adherence to regulatory expectations relating to data accuracy, completeness, traceability, and data controls, as well as ensuring regulatory required data is to a high level of quality
• Stakeholder and Change Leadership
• Build trusted relationships with stakeholders across business, technology, and divisional data office, and Divisional Control office.
• Guide and influence data owners and data stewards in fulfilling their governance responsibilities.
• Promote a culture that treats data as a shared enterprise asset rather than a purely technical concern.
Your skills and experience
• Strong experience in data governance, data management, risk, or control roles within a large, complex organisation. Strong knowledge of data management principals, forward facing technology AI, Lineage welcomed.
• Practical understanding of data governance concepts, including ownership, stewardship, data quality, metadata, and lineage.
• Demonstrated experience running governance forums or working groups with senior stakeholders.
• Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate across time zones and teams.
• Experience working within federated or hybrid operating models.
• Ability to translate governance principles into pragmatic outcomes. I.e. driving improving data month on month.
• We are looking for talents with a Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Sciences from an accredited college or university (or equivalent) to develop analytical solutions for our stakeholders to support strategic decision making. Any professional certification in Advanced Analytics, Data Visualisation and Data Science related domain is a plus.

• Knowledge of Statistics and mathematics beneficial.
