Job Description

The Health and Language Initiative (HLI) Project Manager is a growth position that will enable language communities to flourish by impacting well-defined health outcomes. From relationship management, to fundraising, to project monitoring, this individual will support the HLI in a variety of ways. SIL is uniquely suited to support global health equity through the lens of local language and culture, and the HLI Project manager will play a key role in the continued maturation of the HLI program.Job Responsibilities:

• Supporting the HLI team leader in all aspects of program management and administration.

• Ensuring SIL develops and cultivates relationships with like minded global health organizations, Foundations, government entities, and corporate partners

• Pursuing and solidifying diverse sources of funding that will enable program sustainability

• Leading the coordination of various health related pilot projects that are occurring at the SCO, Area, and Global level.

• Creating and managing a curated library of collateral that supports the HLI.

• Completing other ad hoc data tasks as determined by the supervisor.

KSAs (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Degree, certification, or training in a health related sector

• Ability to serve and work with distributed and diverse teams of various professional backgrounds

• Strong organization and time management skills: ability to establish priorities and deadlines, to manage projects to budget and plan, and achieve objectives within those parameters.

• Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural skills, including the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders from a variety of cultural backgrounds.

• Comfortable leading small project teams.

• Adept in technology, allowing effective use of mainstream workplace methods and tools (Google Suite, Microsoft Office, project management software, customer relationship management tools)

• Detail Oriented

• Anticipates needs and takes initiative within the scope of the position

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field for international missions or development, preferably related to global health.

• Experience working cross-culturally with exposure to community development

• Experience leading teams and developing individual contributors is a plus

• Previous work experience with a nonprofit is a plus.
