About this role

Your role

At Allens, our business teams are also specialists in their field, using their unique knowledge and expertise to solve critical client and business challenges.

You'll be a part of our Knowledge & Practice Services (KPS) team based in Sydney or Melbourne.

In your role as a Knowledge Management Senior Associate, you will provide dedicated, specialist knowledge management support to the Funds, Superannuation & Financial Services (FSF) practice group, ensuring lawyers have access to high-quality, curated and up-to-date knowledge resources as the team continues to grow and the regulatory environment evolves.

As a Knowledge Management Senior Associate in our KPS team you will:

• Strengthen and maintain the FSF precedents collection and knowledge repository as an authoritative, trusted primary resource for lawyers, through active curation and regular updating to reflect current law.
• Monitor, interpret and document regulatory changes relevant to FSF (including reforms to regulation of managed investment schemes, the Australian financial services licensing regime, superannuation regulation, AML and banking regulation) and integrate these into knowledge materials.
• Project-manage knowledge management initiatives from planning through to delivery.
• Work closely with the Business Development and Innovation teams to provide integrated support, including preparation of legal and other materials that support FSF’s external engagement and positioning.
• Support and encourage ongoing partner and lawyer engagement as contributors to the knowledge program.
• Contribute to leadership initiatives and support the profile of the FSF practice group internally and externally.
• Collaborate with other Knowledge Management Lawyers to ensure the firm's knowledge strategy is applied consistently across practice groups.
• Support the FSF team to adopt and use AI tools and AI-enabled workflows safely and effectively in day-to-day legal practice, including by delivering training and guidance and developing practical tools and artefacts for use on AI platforms.

This is a permanent, full-time or part-time opportunity. At Allens we have a hybrid working structure, typically 60% in the office and 40% from home. We would be happy to discuss any other flexible working arrangements that best support you.

About you

You will have:

• Substantial post-admission experience in funds management, superannuation and/or financial services law, with specialist knowledge of Australian financial services regulation and a sound understanding of the current and upcoming reform agenda being highly regarded.
• The ability to produce, curate and maintain high-quality precedents and other know-how materials.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to plan and deliver knowledge management initiatives across competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
• Genuine intellectual curiosity and commitment to deepening expertise in FSF matters.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex regulatory developments into clear, practical materials.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders and work collaboratively with knowledge management colleagues to deliver consistent, high-quality outcomes.
• Strong understanding of the role of technology in knowledge management, including document management systems and AI-enabled tools.

The following capabilities are desirable, but not essential:

• Experience in a knowledge management, professional support or precedents lawyer role within a leading law firm.
• Proficiency in document management and collaboration systems and familiarity with AI-enabled knowledge tools, including AI legal platforms.
