This role integrates workforce analytics, clinical and operational benchmarking, and operational database management to optimize labor, supply, and resource utilization.
Job Description
Job Duties/Essential Functions:
• Analyze workforce data including staffing levels, productivity, overtime, and resource utilization trends across clinical and support departments.
• Monitor and report on key metrics such as worked hours per unit of service, staffing ratios, and throughput.
• Partner with leaders to ensure optimal alignment between staffing levels and patient care needs.
• Identify opportunities to improve labor expense, efficiency, and overall resource utilization while maintaining high-quality, compassionate care.
• Lead as Functional System Administrator for Premier Operations Advisor, the platform for Labor Expense and Productivity Metrics. This includes responsibilities such as managing data imports and ensuring accuracy, generating bi-weekly reports, and analyzing data, and serving as labor coach to help leaders interpret reports and write action plans to address variances.
• Support position control by participating in annual workforce budgeting and Position Review Council processes. Utilize productivity benchmarks to develop FTE budgets and staffing plans.
• Provide Workforce data and executive summaries; educate leaders on how to pull and analyze workforce reports in Workday or Operations Advisor.
• Assist in developing daily productivity and supporting reports.
Operational Benchmarking & Performance Analysis
• Coordinate the collection, validation, and submission of labor, supply, utilization, and operational data for operational benchmarking programs.
• Analyze benchmarking results to compare performance against peer healthcare systems and industry standards.
• Translate benchmarking insights into actionable recommendations for leadership and operational teams.
• Identify performance gaps and trends to drive improvements in cost efficiency and resource utilization.
• Initiate and monitor appropriate data sharing with other facilities and serve as the communication link between Mercy and other benchmarking program participants.

• Strong computer and software skills, including Excel.
• Ability to interact and work collaboratively with leadership, and internal and external customers to achieve organizational goals.
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
• Understands how to read and analyze benchmarking reports.
• Knowledge of general ledger, payroll data, financial statements, and revenue reports.
Professional Experience
• Minimum of three years' experience in labor resource management, finance, healthcare administration, human resources, healthcare analytics, workforce planning, supply chain analytics, or related field.
• Experience analyzing data to implement process &/or system changes preferred.
• Previous experience with Workday preferred.
• Experience with healthcare benchmarking platforms, preferred.
• Familiarity with hospital operations and labor productivity metrics, preferred.
Education
• Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in business, statistics, finance, healthcare administration, human resources, or related field of study.
Reporting Structure
• Reports to: Director, Workforce Strategy, Planning & Resource Management (Labor Resource Management). Matrixed to: Controller, Finance.
