Lead AI Engineer

Accountabilities:

• Lead the design and execution of end-to-end AI solutions, including agentic workflows, RAG pipelines, LLM integrations, and enterprise system connectors.

• Own solution architecture decisions and progressively expand architectural responsibility across initiatives.

• Define, enforce, and improve engineering standards covering code quality, security, testing, deployment, and documentation.

• Architect and manage cloud-native solutions in Azure, selecting optimal services for compute, storage, security, and scalability needs.

• Oversee deployment, monitoring, and operational reliability of AI services in enterprise environments.

• Collaborate with IT and security stakeholders to ensure compliance with enterprise architecture and governance standards.

• Contribute hands-on to backend development, APIs, automation workflows, and full-stack integrations when needed.

• Lead code reviews and ensure consistent technical excellence across the development team.

• Guide agile execution, including sprint planning, delivery coordination, and continuous improvement practices.

• Mentor engineers through coaching, pair programming, and technical leadership.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

• 6+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 3 years in AI/ML or enterprise AI systems.

• Strong expertise in Python, including FastAPI, REST APIs, and backend service development.

• Proven experience deploying and operating solutions in Microsoft Azure (App Services, Functions, Cosmos DB, AI Search, Key Vault, and networking/security).

• Hands-on experience building RAG architectures with vector search, semantic retrieval, and LLM integration.

• Experience with agentic frameworks such as LangChain or LangGraph.

• Familiarity with React-based front-end development and full-stack system integration.

• Strong systems thinking with the ability to evaluate trade-offs, scalability, and security implications.

• Experience mentoring or leading engineering teams in a technical leadership capacity.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical decisions clearly.
