Hiring Range: This position’s hiring range is anticipated to be $59,000 - $63,000 depending on experience, plus great benefits!
Position Summary:
The Learning & Development Instructional Program Specialist supports the design, delivery, and coordination of high-quality learning experiences across Best Friends Animal Society. This role focuses on execution and program support, partnering with Learning & Development leadership and subject matter experts to translate learning priorities into engaging, accessible, and well-organized training experiences. The position blends instructional design, facilitation, and learning system support to ensure programs are delivered consistently and effectively in alignment with organizational needs and guiding principles.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Instructional Design and Facilitation
• Design, develop, and update learning experiences using adult learning principles across virtual, in-person, and digital formats.
• Create facilitator guides, job aids, eLearning modules, and multimedia content using tools such as Articulate 360.
• Facilitate virtual and instructor-led learning sessions on topics such as communication, management, performance, and compliance.
• Review and refine learning content based on feedback, participation data, and changing business needs.
• Program Coordination and Support
• Coordinate the delivery of ongoing learning programs, including manager development and employee skill-building initiatives.
• Support planning, scheduling, and rollout of learning initiatives in partnership with L&D leadership.
• Track participation and completion data to support reporting and continuous improvement efforts.
• Help ensure learning programs are delivered on time and with consistent quality.
• Learning Systems and Tools
• Support day-to-day administration and use of the learning management system (LMS).
• Upload, maintain, and update course content, ensuring accuracy and appropriate access.
• Develop job aids and communications to support learner adoption of learning platforms.
• Partner with L&D leadership on ongoing system improvements and enhancements.
• Collaboration and Continuous Improvement
• Partner with subject matter experts and cross-functional teams to translate business needs into effective learning solutions.
• Provide instructional guidance to partners who contribute content or co-facilitate training.
• Contribute ideas to improve the scalability, accessibility, and effectiveness of learning programs, including responsible use of emerging tools and technology.
Skills and Experience:
• 3–4 years of experience supporting instructional design, learning facilitation, or training programs.
• Experience coordinating multi-session learning programs or recurring development initiatives.
• Working knowledge of learning management systems; Workday Learning experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
• Experience using eLearning authoring tools such as Articulate 360.
• Ability to manage multiple initiatives in a remote work environment.
Physical and Other Requirements:
• Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
• Ability to travel up to 20 percent of work time as needed.
