Learning Solution Specialist
About this role
At Sanoma Learning, we all share a deep-rooted passion for education and are committed to supporting teachers help all students reach their full potential. We are proud of the impact we make together across Europe, locally as well as internationally.
We are now looking for a learning experience specialist with a strong pedagogical background and experience influencing UX and research teams. You’ll make learning outcomes and success criteria a consistent part of how we research, design, and build digital learning experiences.
About the Position
You’ll work in the context of our blended learning strategy and international publishing landscape that Sanoma Learning operates in. In our matrix structure, you will report to Pedagogy Competence Lead for pedagogy alignment, across print, digital, and AI. On a day-to-day basis you will be part of the team that is building our new blended product for secondary education, with a functional reporting line to the Program Manager. You align with our local publishing companies on desired learning outcomes in learning materials and transfer that into actionable insights.
You’ll partner with UX designers, product owners, and user researchers to embed learning-outcome thinking into how we plan, design, and evaluate products. You won’t own UX artifacts or UI execution (UX designers remain accountable for that), but you will be accountable for learning outcomes, learning success criteria, and making learning impact measurable. Your focus is to ensure our digital learning experiences are not only user-centric but educationally intentional, evidence-based, and demonstrably effective in achieving learning outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
• Serve as the bridge between Sanoma Learning’s pedagogical strategy and UX/product implementation. Provide pedagogical input to UX work so experiences align with learning principles and Sanoma Learning’s pedagogical framework.
• Collaborate with our local operating companies to define common learning outcomes and pedagogical approaches. Work with UX teams to ensure they are traceable into journeys and concepts
• Develop shared frameworks and tools (outcome templates, assessment/validation plans, measurement models)
• Stay up to date on academic research in learning and cognitive science, and translate it into usable guidance for product and design.
• Create and maintain a practical, evidence-based approach for learning impact
• Collaborate with user researchers to build learning validation into discovery and testing (beyond usability) and Product teams to drive decisions that protect learning impact
• Explore how AI can meaningfully support teaching and learning journeys and strengthen learning outcomes
Formal Requirements
• Degree in Education, Pedagogy or a related field
• Proven experience in learning experience design, instructional design or UX- adjacent educational roles in digital and blended learning environments
• Hands-on experience working with UX and Product professionals, participating in design processes such as learner-journey mapping, prototyping or usability testing
• Strong understanding of learning theories, curricula and educational landscapes across Europe
• Experience working in an international environment and with versatile stakeholder profiles
• Ability to synthesize pedagogical insight with UX data to improve learning outcomes
• Preferably, you also have experience with learning analytics and data-informed design, as well as working with learning products for K12
Keys to Success
• Ability to work proactively, set your own goals and execute a plan
• Excellent communication and presentation skills in English, both verbally and in writing
• A great listener and relationship-builder, who has an ability to raise curiosity and gain buy-in
