Legal Data Analyst
About this role
Accountabilities:
In this role, you will design and execute data-driven solutions that support legal strategy, compliance, and operational efficiency across multiple legal domains. You will develop search queries, build analytics models, and translate legal requirements into structured data outputs that support investigations and litigation needs. You will also collaborate across functions to ensure data integrity and alignment with governance standards.
• Design, test, and optimize search terms and queries for litigation, investigations, and regulatory response matters, ensuring accuracy and defensibility
• Partner with eDiscovery, privacy, and investigations teams to manage data sets and refine search strategies
• Develop dashboards and reporting tools to identify trends, performance metrics, and operational insights for legal stakeholders
• Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, IT, and Data Governance teams to translate business needs into technical data requirements
• Identify opportunities to automate workflows and improve efficiency in legal data processing, review, and production
• Support the implementation and continuous improvement of legal analytics tools and platforms
• Ensure compliance with data protection, privacy, and records management policies across all legal datasets
Requirements:
This position requires a strong blend of technical data expertise and understanding of legal and compliance environments. You should be comfortable working with structured and unstructured data, building queries, and delivering insights to non-technical stakeholders. Strong communication, analytical thinking, and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Legal Studies, Information Management, or related field
• 5+ years of experience in data analytics, preferably supporting legal, compliance, or risk functions
• Proficiency with analytics and query tools such as SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Python, or Elasticsearch
• Experience with eDiscovery platforms such as Relativity, Nuix, Reveal, or similar tools
• Strong understanding of data privacy, data protection, and information governance principles
• Ability to translate technical findings into clear, actionable business insights
• Strong stakeholder management, collaboration, and project coordination skills
• Detail-oriented mindset with curiosity and adaptability in evolving regulatory and technical environments
