The purpose of this role is to lead a team of data science and business intelligence professionals, ensuring the scientific and analytical integrity of work products across assigned business areas.

Your new role:

• Lead Development of Advanced Analytics, BI & Data Science Use Cases: Collaborate with internal business customers, Analytics leads, and partners to design and deliver solutions that combine BI, AI, and data science for strategic impact.

• Drive Modernization with AI, BI & Data Science: Champion the adoption of advanced analytical techniques, AI-powered BI tools, and machine learning models to enhance decision-making and operational efficiency.

• Identify High-Value Opportunities: Proactively uncover new business challenges and prototype AI-enabled BI and data science solutions that demonstrate measurable business value.

• Bridge Business and Analytics: Act as a translator between business needs and technical solutions, ensuring clarity and alignment across stakeholders.

• Data Integration & Insight Generation: Source, integrate, and explore data from multiple systems; apply AI-driven BI and data science techniques to discover trends, relationships, and actionable insights; validate models and connect results to business decisions.

• Develop BI Platforms & Predictive Dashboards: Oversee the creation of interactive dashboards and reporting frameworks that leverage AI and predictive analytics for forward-looking insights.

• Foster Collaboration & Inclusion: Build strong team relationships, encourage knowledge sharing, and promote diverse perspectives to drive innovation in BI, AI, and data science.

• Ensure Compliance & Governance: Maintain adherence to organizational policies, data governance standards, and relevant legislation.

• Invest in Talent Development: Take ownership of career growth for self and team members, with a focus on upskilling in BI, AI, and data science technologies.

• Strengthen Partnerships: Build strong relationships with business stakeholders and enhance collaboration with offshore teams to scale BI, AI, and data science capabilities globally.

About you:

• Significant data management experience within the financial services sector, preferably in general insurance

• Track record of implementing impactful models that drive sustained business results

• Experience in Big Data Technology including Hadoop, NoSQL DB, Spark, and Parquet

• Ability to derive meaningful insights from large structured and unstructured datasets

• Proficiency in analytics using tools like R, Python, and Spark.

• Collaborative experience in programming projects and project architecture management

• Familiarity with working in a Linux environment.

• Skill in presenting complex analytics solutions to diverse audiences

• Proven track record of delivering successful projects in an agile work setting

• Tertiary Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
