Who we’re looking for
Toyota’s Manufacturing IT Department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated MOM Data & Gemba Enablement manager.

The primary responsibility of this role will be ensuring high-quality, contextualized manufacturing data and delivering a framework that empowers team members to build solutions that solve problems in real time.

Reporting to the Sr. Manager – IIoT / MOM, the person in this role will support the Manufacturing IT department's objective to enable team members to quickly solve problems by ensuring accurate, real-time data is available and seamlessly connected across manufacturing systems.

This position is based in the Battery Plant. Liberty, NC. The selected candidate will be expected to reside within a commutable distance of this location.

What you’ll be doing

• Lead high-performing team and establish culture of Gemba-first problem solving, ownership, and kaizen.

• Own the data integrity, structure, and governance for manufacturing systems (MES/MOM, traceability, genealogy, etc.)

• Ensure data consistency and integration across the IIoT platform, MES/MOM, and enterprise systems.

• Enable real-time, event-driven data architectures using various technologies including brokers, APIs, and MQTT.

• Partner with TBMNC engineering, maintenance, quality, logistics to identify problems, prioritize use cases, and deliver IIoT solutions.

• Oversee development of OT applications using platforms like Ignition, .NET, etc.

• Ensure standardized PLC data acquisition and edge connectivity aligned to register maps and data schemas.

• Partner with platform teams to ensure scalable and reliable data pipelines.

• Collaborate with OneTech teams to align on enterprise standards and long-term architectures.

What you bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)

• 8+ years of experience in manufacturing roles.

• 5+ years of experience in software development, data engineering/data science, SCADA/HMI development, or manufacturing engineering with digital systems experience.

• 3+ years leading manufacturing or technical teams.

• Strong understanding of MES/MOM systems or manufacturing data models.

• Excellent project management skills with a track record of delivering results on time and within budget.

• Experience with industrial communication protocols (OPC US, MQTT, Ethernet/IP)

• Experience with data architecture (event-driven systems, UNS concepts)

• Proficient in data engineering and contextualization

Added bonus if you have

• Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery models

• Experience with SCADA tools such as VTScada, Ignition, etc.

• Experience with PLC platforms (Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, Toyopuc, Omron, Siemens, or equivalent)

• Experience with HEV, BEV systems and battery technology

• Cloud infrastructure experience (AWS, Azure)

• TBP & OJD Completed / Passed
