Your role and responsibilities
If you have experience with 800xA and IT/OT and are looking for a job where you can make an extraordinary impact, this is the opportunity for you.
In this new role, you will be ABB’s expert advisor and troubleshooter, helping our Life Science/Pharmaceutical customers establish an operational setup for their new- or upgrade production plants. Automation/800xA serves as a key foundation for the plant, which comprises multiple different systems that you need to be able to oversee. You will be trusted with freedom to plan your own work and bring your ideas into play in a setup with financial backup to turn good ideas into reality.
You will represent ABB as part of the client’s On-site team, responsible for transforming the current project setup into a full-scale operational system. Your role will be centered on monitoring the systems to ensure minimal downtime, secure optimal performance and thereby contribute to harden the system and ensure the system will maintain as robust as possible.
With your in-depth knowledge of 800xA, you will provide a comprehensive system understanding, making you the team’s go-to troubleshooter across IT infrastructure; server level to controller level to gateways / IO interfaces. Additionally, you will help design the best setup for preventive maintenance.
You will work mostly on-site at the client’s facilities based in Zealand, Denmark while maintaining regular contact with ABB colleagues at ABB locations. This will ensure you receive the best possible support, relevant training, and ongoing education. You will be part of ABB’s IT/OT 800xA specialist team and will be assigned an ABB buddy from day one, as well as participate in our onboarding program.
Your responsibilities
• Troubleshoot across systems.
• Assist in developing preventive maintenance and operation plans.
• Contribute to building the best monitoring setup to ensure maximum uptime and system performance.
• Help map and develop 800xA work procedures tailored to the site’s production and maintenance needs.
• Report to your ABB manager on status updates and challenges that ABB can help address.
• Bring in ABB expertise when encountering problems, you cannot resolve independently.
Qualifications for the role
• Knowledge bridging OT and IT that enable you to understand the overall flow and system interaction across the plant.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience in 800xA, including AC800M controllers.
• Experience from working in a process industry.
• Solid troubleshooting experience.
• Solid overview and the ability to build relations to multiple contacts across different organizations.
• A structured way of working and motivation for working with high-level demands for documentation.
• Good English skills and motivation for working in an international setup.
