Job Description Summary
This position is responsible for operating the fryers to achieve product specification targets and complete process checks at a timely manner.
Job Description
Individuals in this position must:
• Follow all plant safety policies and procedures. Be actively engaged in safety, participate in safety programs, engage in safety activities, perform risk assessments, and demonstrate ownership as well as leadership in personal safety and the safety of other team members. Report all near hits, incidents, and any safety concerns.
• Have a working knowledge of the equipment, piping layout and controls in area of responsibility.
• Monitor and control the temperature and time on the fryers to achieve product specification targets. Record all changes and inform supervisor before changes are made.
• Perform various process checks per procedure to ensure quality; including but not limited to FFA checks, upstream color, SAPP and salt concentrations. Enter checks into the process entry in a timely manner.
• Monitor and control the amount of dextrose and salt added to the flume water supply tank to attain target color and salt content in the finished product.
• Performs all Daily Management System standards per schedule to include CILs, CLs, and Defect Handling. Enter finished standards in a timely manner.
• Monitor and ensure oil levels and circulation valves on the fryers are adjusted correctly.
• Transfer oil from holding tanks to other tanks and/or fryers, when needed.
• Clean static product build-up out of the fryers during breaks in line-flow or when instructed by the Supervisor.
• Check all oil recovery equipment to ensure it is operating properly to attain the highest oil recovery rate possible.
• Follow weekend cleanup procedures to clean fryers and other equipment in the fryer area. Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the lead or supervisor.

Qualifications & Experience
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this job. To successfully perform this job an individual must:
• Must be forklift certified. If not, must meet requirements to become forklift certified.
• Must be Sanitation qualified. If not, must meet requirements to become forklift certified.
• Must be LOTO qualified. If not, must complete LOTO training.
• Demonstrate exceptional communication skills with all plant personnel.
• Read, understand, and obey all plant rules, GMP’s and practice safety as outlined in the employee handbook.
• Be knowledgeable of the potential hazards and safety procedures associated with the task being performed.
• Observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly.
• Must be able to demonstrate a balance of teamwork and individual responsibilities.
Education
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
Language Skills
Effectively communicate in English verbally and in writing. Ability to understand instructions and follow directions in English.
Physical Demands

• Be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, crouch, or stoup, and climb stairs & ship ladders.
• Ability to have hands and sight work together to be able to do things that require speed and accuracy.
• Must be able to use fingers without difficulty, and have normal, natural range of motion.
• Be able to lift up to 10 pounds on a frequent basis, and 50 lbs. on an occasional basis.
• Have specific vision abilities required by this job, which include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Must be able to push and pull heavy items on occasion up to the amount of lifting requirements.
Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the functions of this job. The employee:
• Will regularly work near moving mechanical parts.
• Will work around hot oil frequently.
• Will frequently be exposed to humid conditions as well as moderate heat.
• May be occasionally work around fumes or airborne particles, chemicals, and vibration.
• The noise level in the work environment can exceed 85 dbs.
• Will work around forklift traffic.

This compensation is specific to this position and takes into account a number of variables. Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to a candidate's work location, job duties, experience and expertise. A reasonable hourly estimate for this role is listed below.
