The Philanthropy Data Analyst serves as a key analytics partner for fundraisers and the Philanthropy Effectiveness team, acting as a resource for developing analyses, reports, dashboards, and data tools to meet business needs.
The Data Analyst sits within the Philanthropy Operations & Performance team in Global Development and serves as an embedded analytics partner to fundraisers as well as teams within the Philanthropy Effectiveness department, including Prospect Management, Data & Technology Solutions, Revenue Management, Project & Planning, Consulting and Learning. This role is responsible for developing reports, analyses, and data visualizations and translating complex fundraising data into actionable insights that support operational effectiveness and strategic decision-making.
The Data Analyst functions as a trusted analytics advisor to department leaders and frontline staff, supporting day-to-day reporting needs and partnering to answer strategic analytic questions.
The Data Analyst will:
• Act as a strategic analytics partner to department stakeholders, including fundraisers, the teams within Philanthropy Effectiveness, and Global Development analysts.
• Query and analyze data from the CRM and data warehouse to support operational reporting, performance tracking, and ad hoc analysis.
• Design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards and operational reports that enable stakeholders to monitor performance, identify trends, and inform decision-making.
• Translate business questions into analytical approaches, delivering clear and actionable insights using curated enterprise datasets.
• Ensure analytics products align with enterprise data governance standards, definitions, and best practices.
• Contribute to Development data governance and the roll out and adoption of strong Development data management and reporting standards.

What You’ll Bring:
• Bachelor’s degree and 5 years related experience or equivalent combination.
• Experience designing and generating reports, manipulating, analysing data, and communicating results to non-technical audiences.
• Experience with current and evolving technology in database management, data visualization, and analytics.
• Experience with relational databases and manipulating relational data within a database and spreadsheet application.
• Experience working and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Experience, coursework, or other training in principles, practices, and procedures of business intelligence.
Salary Information:
The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $78,800 - $114,800. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. Where a successful candidate’s actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate's location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. Please note countries outside the USA would have a different pay range in the local currency based on the local labor market, and not tied to USA pay or ranges. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment.
