Team/ Division Overview
The Investment Division (Fixed Income) has the fiduciary responsibilities to manage fixed income assets within established investment policy guidelines. The team invest client/fund assets, oversee the investment strategy and direct all trades of the relevant portfolio within fixed income, and ensure that the delivery of Portfolio commitments adheres to the appropriate governance guidelines, including any regulatory/legal restrictions that may impact the portfolio. They make decisions about investment mix and policy, matching investments to objectives, asset allocation for individuals and institutions and balancing risk against performance, based on a deep understanding of market developments, financial and economic trends. They participate in research meetings and client meetings as required, in support of asset management responsibilities.
Role Details
As a Portfolio Manager / Research you will be responsible for:
• Assist Lead Portfolio Managers in managing Asian fixed income portfolios and client mandates.
• Perform fundamental credit analysis of corporate and sovereign issuers with periodic review.
• Publish internal credit research of corporate and sovereign issuers on the DWS research platform on a timely basis.
• Perform macro economic analysis for Asian economies.
• Generate investment ideas, and co-ordinate with other divisions within DWS investment platform for managing fixed income portfolios.
• Conduct company due diligence, build company financial and factor models, conduct research meetings, and participate in client meetings as required in support of asset management responsibilities.
• Clearly communicate investment thesis for Asian fixed income to internal and external stakeholders as necessary.
• Assist in preparing and updating marketing materials for client’s meeting.
• Enhance, adapt, and execute personal and team processes to maintain performance edge as markets evolve.
We are looking for
• Roughly 7+ years’ experience required in portfolio management, trading or research in Asian fixed income market with a demonstrated passion for investing.
• Degree in Finance/Economics/Accounting
• Experience in either buy-side or sell-side credit research (IG & HY) highly preferred.
• CFA progression would be desirable but not mandatory.
• Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and other quantitative data analysis methodologies is desirable.
• Strong command of fundamental and economic analysis
