• Contribute to the research at the Sydney School of Education and Social Work

• Base Salary Level A, $ 109,263 p.a. - $121,054 p.a., pro-rata + 17% superannuation

About the opportunity

specialises in teaching and research in the fields of education and social work, which have long traditions at the University of Sydney. Our undergraduate and postgraduate education programs are some of the best in Australia.

The School is currently seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Statistics (Education, Health or Medical field) to join an Australian Research Council funded research team. The successful applicant will be responsible for conducting research, collecting and analysing quantitative data, assisting with school-based implementation studies, and contributing to the overall goals and objectives of a research project. As an academic Level A Research Associate, you would conduct research and/or scholarly activities under the limited supervision of senior academic staff, either independently or as part of a research team related to Australian Research Council funded research project: See link for details.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

• conduct research, scholarly or professional activity, independently or as part of a team, contributing to discipline knowledge in school health literacy, health education, digital health and social media literacies

• undertake data set analysis

• develop and refine independent research skills under the supervision of more senior academic staff

• provide informal mentoring and advice to students within discipline

• carry out administrative tasks and contribute to faculty/school meetings

• contribute to a positive workplace culture in which diversity of thought, contribution, collaboration, excellence and achieving outcomes are valued and enabled

• understand and contribute to furthering the university and faculty/school strategic agenda.

About you

We are seeking an exceptional Postdoctoral Research Associate in Statistics (Education, Health or Medical field) who has:

• a PhD (or near completion) in Education, Health or Medical field

• evident quantitative methods skillset

• demonstrated ability to conduct research/scholarly activities under limited supervision

• the ability and a willingness to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams to contribute to long-term research goals

• excellent communication (written and verbal), organisational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail

• a track record of publishing their research

• a developing network of academic industry and professional partners and stakeholders.
