Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:
This position will support research activities in the Clark Lab, with a focus on the systematics and evolution of bamboos. Responsibilities include managing day-to-day lab operations and mentoring graduate and undergraduate students affiliated with the lab. The role involves conducting research by analyzing existing datasets, contributing to manuscripts, and participating in established research collaborations. Additional duties include assisting with the curation of scientific collections and contributing to the development of one or more grant proposals.
Required Minimum Qualifications:
A PhD in biology or a related discipline by the time of employment, with expertise in plant systematics and evolution; demonstrated proficiency in phylogenetics and biostatistics.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in bamboo systematics
• Experience in plant anatomy
• Experience in molecular phylogenetics
• Experience in macroevolutionary analyses
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.
