Position Overview
The Process & Analytics Specialist is a senior member of the Operational Excellence team, responsible for driving data-informed decision-making across daily operations. This role combines deep analytical expertise with strong operational acumen to proactively identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
This individual is not only responsible for analysis, but also for shaping how data is used within operations, owning and driving analytics and process improvement initiatives across multiple workstreams and departments. They will partner with leadership to set direction, prioritize efforts, and ensure execution of high-impact initiatives, influencing strategy, improving processes, and drive measurable performance outcomes.
What you’ll do:
Strategic Operational Insights
• Lead analysis of complex operational data to identify trends, patterns, and emerging risks
• Proactively deliver forward-looking insights that inform operational and strategic decisions
• Define and evolve KPIs to ensure alignment with business objectives
• Serve as a trusted decision-making partner to operations leadership on performance and optimization opportunities
Automation & Scalable Solutions
• Design, build, and deploy automations to improve operational efficiency
• Identify repeatable solutions and scale them across teams
• Leverage tools and scripting to eliminate manual processes
• Own the identification, prioritization, and scaling of automation opportunities across teams
• Standardize automation approaches across operational workstreams
Process Optimization & Operational Excellence
• Develop a deep, end-to-end understanding of operational workflows and interdependencies
• Lead root cause analysis and identify systemic process issues impacting performance
• Drive process improvement initiatives using data-driven insights
• Partner with Operational Excellence leaders to prioritize and implement high-impact improvements
• Lead cross-workstream process improvement initiatives, ensuring alignment and consistency
• Apply Lean/Six Sigma methodologies to process and analytics improvements
• Establish feedback loops for ongoing optimization
Advanced Analytics & Reporting
• Design and oversee scalable dashboards, reporting frameworks, and performance monitoring tools
• Ensure data integrity, consistency, and usability across reporting solutions
• Move beyond descriptive analytics to incorporate diagnostic and predictive insights where applicable
• Define and govern enterprise standards for reporting and dashboard development
• Ensure consistency and alignment of reporting across workstreams
Data Governance & Enablement
• Ensure data quality and consistency across Snowflake and reporting layers
• Partner with data teams to optimize semantic models
• Enable self-service analytics through training and documentation
Cross-Functional Leadership
• Act as a key liaison between operations, product data/technology teams, and leadership
• Influence stakeholders across multiple levels of the organization
• Translate complex analytical findings into clear, actionable recommendations
• Train operational teams on SQL and data best practices
• Promote data literacy and adoption of analytics tools
Scope of Ownership & Impact Measurement
• Set strategy and priorities for analytics and process improvement work across teams to maximize business impact
• Own and drive key analytical initiatives from problem definition through execution and impact measurement across the product
• Establish frameworks to track and quantify the impact of operational improvements and standards for controlled processes and analytics that are adopted across stakeholders
• Continuously refine analytical approaches to increase business value and operate with end-to-end accountability for outcomes and susatained impact
What you’ll bring to Zelis:
• 8-10+ years of experience in data analytics, business analytics, or operations analytics roles
• Demonstrated experience working closely with operational teams and understanding complex workflows
• Advanced proficiency in SQL, Excel, and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, etc.)
• Strong experience building scalable dashboards and reporting frameworks
• Proven ability to influence decision-making through data and insights
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and critical reasoning skills
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders
• Strong sense of ownership; drives initiatives through to completion and impact
• Ability to lead without direct authority across multiple teams
• Experience in Operational Excellence, Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies preferred
• Background in healthcare, payments, or other high-volume, process-driven environments preferred
• Experience with predictive analytics, trend modeling, or statistical analysis preferred
• Familiarity with process mapping and workflow optimization tools preferred

• Clear ownership and accountability exist for performance outcomes driven by this role

Location and Workplace Flexibility
We have offices in Atlanta GA, Boston MA, Morristown NJ, Plano TX, St. Louis MO, St. Petersburg FL, and Hyderabad, India. We foster a hybrid and remote friendly culture, and all our employee's work locations are based on the needs of the position and determined by the Leadership team. In-office work and activities, if applicable, vary based on the work and team objectives in accordance with Company policies.
Base Salary Range
$105,000.00 - $133,000.00
At Zelis we are committed to providing fair and equitable compensation packages. The base salary range allows us to make an offer that considers multiple individualized factors, including experience, education, qualifications, as well as job-related and industry-related knowledge and skills, etc. Base pay is just one part of our Total Rewards package, which may also include discretionary bonus plans, commissions, or other incentives depending on the role.
