As a Project Manager, Applied AI Engineering, you will lead complex, cross-functional AI/ML and advanced analytics initiatives from concept through delivery. You’ll partner with stakeholders to define requirements, manage risks and timelines, and ensure clear communication across global teams. This role serves as the execution engine for AI Engineering—translating strategy into action across a diverse portfolio of initiatives, including AI/GenAI, ML Ops solutions, tooling, and innovation programs. You will align stakeholders, manage dependencies, and drive projects forward with focus and precision.

Success in this role requires proactively tracking milestones, removing blockers, and maintaining momentum across initiatives. You’ll be equally comfortable communicating insights to executive leadership and discussing technical trade-offs with engineering and R&D teams. Your work will ensure critical AI/ML, MLOps and scientific application priorities are delivered efficiently and effectively in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end delivery of AI/GenAI, MLOps, and software projects, from concept through development and release, while incorporating customer feedback throughout the lifecycle

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, engineering, data science, IT, Q&A, and regulatory) to define requirements, specifications, project plans and deliverables

• Manage project timelines, budgets, resources, risks and dependencies across multiple initiatives

• Apply structured project management methodologies (e.g., stage-gate) to guide development, validation and release cycles

• Conduct appropriate project risk assessments and define mitigation plans; Communicate progress, insights and any changes effectively to stakeholders and senior leadership

• Build, develop, and maintain strong relationships across internal teams (design, program management, operations, procurement and product development), and external partners

• Oversee vendor relationships, including AI platform providers and consulting partners

• Ensure compliance with regulatory, security, and data governance standards

• Define KPIs and success metrics to measure impact and performance of AI initiatives

• Stay current with emerging trends in AI/GenAI and identify new opportunities for innovation

Candidate Requirement:

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field.  Master’s degree preferred.

• Experience managing software development and delivering advanced analytics, AI/ML, and/or generative AI solutions to market

• Experience with emerging AI/ML, MLOps technologies, software project planning and testing

• CPM or PMP Certification Preferred: Seasoned Project Manager with familiarity with SDLC workflows, agile methodologies and enterprise software tooling ecosystems

• Preferred experience in effective program development and management strategies

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

• Proven track record with 5+ years of experience in project leadership, project management, program strategy, scope & resource definition, possibility/solution work stream generation, knowledge management, and its transition to applications

• Minimum 3+ years of experience in managing AI, machine learning, or Generative AI projects

• Analytical and detail-oriented with strong conflict resolution experience with excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills and the ability to influence effective cross-functional collaboration

• Preferred strong understanding of AI/ML concepts, including large language models, data pipelines, and how they can be applied to inter-disciplinary applications and products

• Knowledge of compliance, security, and governance principles in the context of enterprise software.

• Ability to work under pressure and coordinate numerous activities with a multi-disciplinary team who need to communicate and cooperate to achieve success

• High attention to detail and experience in managing technical challenges and highly effective organization, negotiation, coordination, and presentation skills

• Initiative and follow through: Exercises independent judgement within a complex, enterprise-scale scientific ecosystem with diverse, interdependent workflows

• Passionate and committed to leveraging AI/GenAI, automation and software technologies across both internal workflows and customer-facing products

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $103,100.00–$140,050.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
