About this role

The UNH Foundation is looking for a strong candidate to fill a vacant position on the Prospect Research and Management team. The Prospect Research Analyst (PRA) is a key contributor to institutional fundraising success, supporting Advancement leadership and Development staff through rigorous prospect management and data analysis. Operating within a team structure, this role maintains data quality, drives process consistency, and executes complex analytical work — translating data into actionable insights that keep the pipeline healthy and gift officers positioned for success.

Duties/Responsibilities

Prospect Management (50%)

• Maintain and document prospect management policies and procedures for assignments, qualification outcomes, and opportunities, updating as systems evolve.

• Oversee and approve prospect management data entry in the Advancement CRM, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and policy compliance.

• Conduct regular data integrity audits to keep prospect records current and reliable.

• Communicate consistently with Development Associates and gift officers to reinforce policy understanding, deadlines, and requirements.

• Develop clear reference materials and train new Development staff on prospect management practices relevant to their roles.

Reporting and Analytics (30%)

• Produce and distribute monthly fundraising activity reports and dashboards, ensuring timely delivery to Development managers and leadership.

• Support ongoing and ad hoc portfolio and prospect pool analysis, including internal reporting on team output and ROI.

• Design and apply scoring methodologies and data mining techniques to efficiently surface and prioritize high-value prospects for major gift pipeline integration.

• Use advanced data analytics tools and techniques — including Excel, Power Queries, and OData — to analyze, synthesize, and present findings in clear, compelling formats.

• Collaborate with leadership to develop tracking models that measure the impact of key metrics over time.

Systems Integration (20%)

• Partner with leadership and IT to enhance the Advancement CRM and develop reporting tools that provide deeper prospect, pipeline, and performance insights.

• Demonstrate strong proficiency with CRM reporting functions and apply analytical tools to continuously improve data workflows.

Requirements

Minimum Acceptable Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three years of experience in prospect research, prospect management, advancement services, or a related analytical role.

• Experience with a fundraising CRM; ability to learn and optimize CRM reporting functions.

• Demonstrated expertise in prospect management methodologies, data analysis, and scoring or modeling techniques for prioritizing major gift prospects.

• Intermediate to advanced Excel proficiency; experience with Power Queries, macros, ad hoc reporting, and OData links strongly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize large volumes of data and present findings clearly to senior leadership.

• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple concurrent priorities under deadline.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

• Familiarity with current trends in prospect management, prospect research, and fundraising campaigns.

• Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with sound professional judgment.

• Understanding of data governance, data integrity standards, and documentation practices to ensure consistent and compliant reporting.

• Familiarity with fundraising performance metrics, pipeline health indicators, and return-on-investment (ROI) analysis.

• Awareness of data privacy, ethical fundraising standards, and confidentiality requirements related to donor and prospect information.

• Strong attention to detail and quality control skills, particularly in reviewing and validating data entered by others.

Compensation Pay Range:

$47,920.00 - $85,410.00
