Position Summary
The Registered Dietitian Nutritionist in the Kendall Reagan Nutrition Center within the Department of Food Science & Human Nutrition in the College of Health & Human Sciences is a full-time Research Associate I position. The RDN plays a significant and supportive role as a team member of the Kendall Reagan Nutrition Center. The individual in this position provides direct client services; plans and delivers nutrition-related programs; teaches cooking classes; creates nutrition educational materials; assists with outreach and marketing; and supervises and mentors practicum students and dietetic interns.

Essential Job Duties:
• Provides nutrition counseling
• Nutrition Care Process, including charting
• Coordinated care with clients’ other healthcare providers
• Receive and make referrals
• Participate in weekly meetings with KRNC dietitians, including case consultation as needed
• Oversee practicum students and interns shadowing nutrition counseling appointments
• Plan, develop, and implement nutrition education programs, presentations, cooking classes, group programs, and other services
• Includes planning menus, recipe testing, creating participant handouts, and developing and delivering presentations
• Effective time management skills during nutrition programs
• Comfortably speak to large audiences both in person and virtually
• Prep students for helping with program implementation
• Prepare for and attend health fairs
• Create education handouts as needed
• Communicate with community partners
• Prepare and send out cooking class reminders and communications
• Curate and edit monthly newsletter
• Create a schedule for KRNC recipes of the month and submit to CSU media outlet in a timely fashion
• Edit student blogs and other written projects

Supervision:
Supervision of undergraduate and graduate FSHN practicum students.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree minimum, in Nutrition, Dietetics, Food Science, or other closely related field
• Registered Dietitian Nutritionist or RDN by job start date
• Knowledge and background working with community nutrition education
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Minimum one years’ experience providing nutrition counseling to clients.
Preferred Qualifications
• Master’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a closely related field
• Minimum two or more years’ professional experience providing nutrition counseling or programming to clients and/or groups
• Knowledge and background working with community nutrition education
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Passion and ability to teach cooking classes to a variety of ages, develop menus, and test recipes
• Effective public speaker
• Experience with addressing nutrition needs across the lifespan
• Experience using Healthie or an alternative electronic health record, Telehealth, and Microsoft Office Suite

Salary Range
$55,000-$60,000
