Research and Development Quality Assurance Senior Project Manager

Accountabilities:

• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale, cross-functional, and multi-year R&D quality initiatives aligned with strategic and operational objectives

• Drive process improvement, standardization, automation, and operational excellence across RDQA functions and related R&D quality domains

• Provide advanced project management expertise, ensuring strong governance, structured reporting, and effective risk identification and mitigation

• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on project scope, timelines, compliance requirements, and change management activities

• Serve as the central communication hub across stakeholders, ensuring transparency, consistency, and timely decision-making

• Conduct data analysis, research, and root cause assessments to identify process gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities

• Act as a subject matter expert for medium-complexity initiatives involving systems, workflows, and quality analytics

• Support or lead mentoring, coordination, and training of team members and contractors to ensure efficient project execution

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree with 10–15+ years of project management experience, including at least 5 years in clinical research or the pharmaceutical/biotech industry

• Strong background in R&D quality, clinical operations, or quality assurance within regulated environments

• Experience applying project management methodologies such as Agile (SCRUM/Kanban), Lean Six Sigma, SDLC, or Product Lifecycle Management

• Solid understanding of clinical and preclinical research operations, including familiarity with GCP, GVP, GMP, GDP, and CMC frameworks

• Proven ability to influence stakeholders, drive alignment, and facilitate decision-making across senior leadership and cross-functional teams

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and consultative skills with a forward-thinking mindset

• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities in complex organizational environments

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Excel, MS Project, SharePoint, Visio, OneNote, and Smartsheet

• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and escalate risks effectively

• Preferred: Master’s degree or MBA and relevant certifications such as PMP, Six Sigma, or PMI credentials
