Research Assistant (TEMPORARY - part-time, 17.5 hours/week)

The Hill Lab is hiring a part-time, temporary research associate to work on molecular genetics experiments to determine causes of Congenital Heart Defects.

What you’ll do in this position:

• Conduct experiments using molecular biology techniques, including PCR, transformation, bacterial cell culture, and enzymatic reactions.
• Breed zebrafish and conduct experiments on the embryos.
• Record and report results accurately and concisely.

What qualifies you for this role:

Required

• A firm commitment to the mission of BYU. 
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a molecular biology lab.
• Competency using molecular biology techniques, including PCR, transformation, bacterial cell culture, and enzymatic reactions.
• Training in zebrafish animal husbandry.

Preferred

• Experience with the SciNote virtual lab book.

Pay Grade: 46

Typical Starting Pay: $16.50 to $21.25 an hour
