Research Senior Technician-Comprehensive Cancer Center

Department:

CCC | Comprehensive Cancer Center

Looking to fill a position in a Comprehensive Cancer Center laboratory under the direction of Dr. Lapo Alinari.  This position will focus on the discovering mechanisms of action in lymphoma cancer models including preclinical mouse models. The projects will include both basic and translational approaches.

This job will include:

-Performing and assisting with a variety of molecular biology techniques, including protein/DNA/RNA isolations, Western blots, PCR techniques, etc.

-Performing a large variety of cell culture techniques, including: primary cell culture, generating new cell lines, and processing tissue (human and murine) into single cell suspensions

-Processing human blood samples, and isolating human immune cell subtypes

-Performing basic data analysis and other statistical techniques on sample data

-May need to independently review relevant scientific literature to ensure protocols are up to date and to troubleshoot procedures

-Taking inventory and assisting with restocking lab supplies

Preferred Qualifications

-Previous experience in research or a lab environment is preferred, but not required

Minimum Education Required

Bachelor’s degree in a related science field
