The Research Technician will be involved in performing routine laboratory techniques, inventory, and animal colony maintenance in Dr. David Akhavan' s research lab. This individual will be involved in the scientific research work in the Department of Radiation Oncology, Research Program at University of Kansas Medical Center.Job Description:
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
• Maintain research study support areas/benches
• Maintain records in an accurate and legible manner
• Order lab supplies
• Assist in the operation and maintenance of research lab equipment
• Participate or assist in the conduct of studies under the direction of lab staff
• Perform regulated lab activities under the direction of the lab staff

Required Qualifications:
Work Experience:
• 2 years of work experience as a research technician. Education may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
• Experience setting up, operating and maintain the lab equipment in lab of translational physician scientist
Preferred Qualifications:
Education: Associates degree in science or related field

Compensation Statement:
The pay range listed for this position is determined by our compensation program using market data and salary benchmarking. A combination of factors is considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, education, experience and training, qualifications relative to the requirements of the position, and funding. At the University of Kansas Medical Center, a reasonable estimate for the starting pay range will be the minimum to midpoint of the posted range, taking into account the combination of factors listed above.
