The listed pay range or pay rate reflects compensation for a full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) position. Actual compensation may differ depending on assigned hours and position status (e.g., part-time).

Position Overview
Leads team responsible for daily management of Health Information Management (HIM) data. Oversees collection, validation, analysis and reporting of all HIM related data across the organization. Ensures data accuracy, reliability and compliance with regulatory and organizational standards. Assists in management of hospital EMR functions related to HIM and exception reporting of the patient portal, distribution of auto-faxing and merging of duplicate medical record numbers. Leads staff participation in HIM processing and ensures technology is optimized and workflows are reflective of industry standards.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Associate's degree in health information management preferred.
Experience: Three years' experience in an acute care hospital HIM department required. One year' leadership or supervisory capacity experience preferred.
Other Credentials: RHIA or RHIT
Knowledge and Skills: Possesses excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously and ability to respond quickly in a fast-paced environment.
Special Training: Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite applications.
Mental, Behavioral and Emotional Abilities: Proficient in leveraging multiple EMR systems using applicable software to promote efficient and accurate data outcomes. Excellent interpersonal, observation, analytical and problem-solving skills. Possess strong critical thinking skills, ability to work in sometimes stressful environment. Perform detail-oriented tasks with high level of accuracy.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Supervises daily activities of the HIM Data Analysts including accurate data reporting for Daily Tracking, DNFB, and any other data or reports needed by management team in HIM department and any other department for Capital Health.
Oversees collection, validation, analysis and reporting of HIM DNFB and revenue cycle metrics for Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) reporting.
Leads staff in management of hospital EMR functions related to HIM and exception reporting of patient portal, distribution of auto-faxing and merging of duplicate medical record numbers.
Assists HIM management team in interviewing, hiring, and training of new staff members. Offers feedback to management about staff evaluations and work performance.
Ensures data accuracy, reliability and compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
Promotes staff participation in evaluation of HIM processes to ensure technology is optimized and workflows are reflective of industry standards.
Participates in creating a collaborative environment with a focus on team work to obtain successful outcomes.
Assists in redesign and coordination of HIM processes to adapt to an evolving electronic medical record environment.
Collaborates with IT to assure effective data compilation, optimization of system usage and accurate workflow.
Works with HIM management team in the development and implementation of policies and procedures consistent with medical record best practices.
Participates in medical record review activities to ensure DNV, CMS, and NJ Department of Health compliance. Recommends changes to protocol and procedures as needed.
Participates in interdisciplinary committees to provide HIM data management subject matter expertise.
Performs other duties as assigned.
