[What the role is]
This recruitment is for the position of Scientist (Exposure Science) in the National Centre for Food Science in the Singapore Food Agency.
[What you will be working on]
Officer will be expected to work as an Exposure Scientist to:
• Plan and execute projects related to dietary exposure assessment, such as establishing and maintaining a cohort.
• Organise and manage large datasets and use statistical methods to analyse the data and derive meaningful insights
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams (both internal departments and external institutions) on projects that collectively contribute to food safety in Singapore.
• Communicate findings from projects to diverse target audiences through stakeholder engagement, conference presentations, scientific publications, and project reports.
• Perform administrative work such as budgeting, procurement and preparation of project agreements.

[What we are looking for]
• Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree (Master’s or PhD) in life science, pharmacy, nursing, epidemiology or related fields, or working experience in a related field.
• Prior experience with cohort studies or clinical studies/trials is an advantage
• Basic experience in using statistical or data analytics and visualisation software (e.g. SPSS, Power BI, Tableau) and programming languages (e.g. Python or R) is an advantage
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively and independently as part of multidisciplinary teams
• Detail oriented and possesses strong organisational skills
• Highly driven and able to take responsibility and initiative for delivering quality work
• Able to manage multiple priorities concurrently and deliver quality work timely in a fast-paced environment
• A record of high-quality scientific research, demonstrated by publications in peer-reviewed journals, is an advantage
