Senior Advisor, Data engineering
About this role
As a senior data engineering advisor, you help develop solutions for collecting, integrating, consolidating, cleaning, sorting and transparently mining data. You help develop, maintain, support and run computer applications and data pipelines, while ensuring the functional analysis, IT design, coding, fine-tuning and documentation of programs. You lead and influence different stakeholders in projects and initiatives to proactively meet cross-sector business needs, through the development of highly innovative data mining solutions and through complex, strategic data engineering initiatives. Your initiatives require extensive, in-depth knowledge of your line of work. You use your analytical skills and comprehensive, in-depth knowledge of the organization and the line of business to make recommendations on the execution of projects and the resolution of IT problems that are very highly operationally and conceptually complex. You analyze client and partner needs, and lead initiatives involving complex business issues that may lead to business positions and recommendations involving strategic directions for data storage and management. You serve as an expert advisor and subject matter expert, as well as a resource person and coach for senior management and decision-making bodies. You interact with many stakeholders working in a wide range of fields and advise decision-making committees on strategic directions and business positions. More specifically, you will be required to :
• Oversee the design and building of data collection systems and platforms as part of strategic, multidisciplinary data engineering initiatives.
• Oversee the development of data pipelines, and the integration, transformation and consolidation of data from different systems into structures that are adapted to a wide range of contexts.
• Oversee the implementation, monitoring, maintenance and improvement of innovative systems that meet business needs.
• Use various script languages and tools for storing and producing highly complex sets of data.
• Oversee the development of algorithms, prototypes and proofs of concept within highly conceptually complex and innovative projects.
• Identify opportunities to improve systems based on trends and behaviours, anticipate underlying impacts of changes and ensure that data management services are enhanced.
• Establish and draft IT best practices, procedures and choices. Advise and train teams on data engineering procedures, and improve them to make data processing more efficient.

What you bring to the table
• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• A minimum of eight years of relevant experience
• Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
• Knowledge of French is required
