Senior AI Engineer

A DAY IN THE LIFE

The Senior AI Engineer is a seasoned individual contributor responsible for designing and delivering AI/ML solutions that drive measurable improvements in operational efficiency and project performance across Blattner’s portfolio. This role leads solution implementation for defined workstreams, designs within established reference architectures, and partners with business, IT, and data functions to ensure solutions are production-ready and aligned with enterprise standards. The Senior AI Engineer provides technical guidance to AI Engineers and contributes input to technical direction and tool selection.

STEP INTO THE ROLE

• Designs, develops, and deploys AI/ML solutions that support planning, forecasting, construction optimization, and risk reduction for renewable energy projects, owning delivery for defined workstreams or products.
• Leads implementation of MLOps pipelines, model lifecycle processes, and production monitoring for assigned solutions, ensuring adherence to security, integration, and performance requirements.
• Partners with IT and data teams to design and implement secure, scalable, and integrated AI solutions within established enterprise architectures and standards.
• Works with business stakeholders to define requirements and translate them into actionable technical designs; recommends solution approaches and design decisions for review and alignment with AI leadership team.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field
• 5 or more years of professional experience in Machine Learning, AI Engineering, or related fields.

WHAT SETS YOU APART

• Ability to travel quarterly to Avon, MN (Corporate) and job site locations.
• Strong proficiency in cloud architecture, APIs, and modern ML frameworks (e.g., Scikit-learn, XGBoost, Langchain, Tensorflow, LlamaIndex, etc.)

$110,617.00 - $160,396.00 Individual Compensation to be determined based on the applicant's applicable experience and qualifications balanced against internal equity.
